All round very good stay
BJW Son 18/10/2017 21:25After having travelled through Sicily for two weeks we needed to set up a base from where we could visit Cefalu, drive through the Madonie mountains and most importantly, take a day just to relax, enjoying a day of leisure as well as catch up on some reading and writing. Hotel Baia del Capitano easily met all our requirements.
The location provided us with easy access to Cefalù without having the usual parking issues at a hotel, easy access to the highway and thus the Madonie mountains and most importantly, a very comfortable place to stay with all the amenities we needed for our day of relaxation.
Service by all staff was professional; that is, they were friendly, put in the extra effort required to ensure all our needs were met and followed-up on any service provided just to make sure. We even got laundry done over a day at reasonable price.
The entire hotel, including our room, was kept to a high standard of cleanliness. Our room provided us enough space to lay out our suitcases without being in the way or making us feel cramped. Wifi worked well everywhere.
The breakfast buffet was among the best we’ve had. It included hot and cold options such as bacon and eggs, fresh fruit, an assortment of cereals and breads, yogurts, cheeses and juices. There was even a juicer machine and oranges if you had a taste for fresh squeezed orange juice. We had dinner in the restaurant on one night of our stay and were equally pleased with the service and food.
Besides an outdoor pool area with plenty of chairs (uprights and lounge), a small garden area with benches, tables and ample shade, we noticed there were even tennis courts and a small playground for children.
We consider having received excellent value for money.

Rooms are clean , nicely furnished.AC is quiet!.Dinners are really good and professionally served in the garden with beautiful illumination ( If weather allows). Five minutes walk to the beach.Close distance to Cefalu! Thanks for nice experience.

Lovely hotel, great location
Ruth Ion 09/09/2017 15:31In a peaceful spot just outside Cefalu this is a great hotel for a relaxing week, and with a hire car a great base to see more of Sicily. The dedicated section of beach just a short walk away is a big plus point and there's a nice pool as an alternative. The breakfasts were excellent, great choice and the DIY freshly squeezed orange juice was a fantastic start to the day. We went for half board, a good choice as there's nowhere else in the immediate area, and we weren't disappointed. There was a good choice every evening with excellent service in the large garden. We were in the annexe, and although the room was fairly small it was comfortable and provided all the essentials. The only down side was the extremely tiny shower cubicle and limited and erratic water supply. Despite that we would certainly return to Hotel Baia del Capitano.
Relaxing retreat within beautiful setting

The hotel was nice and set in lovely gardens, but the swimming pool was the winning attraction for the family. The hotel had access to a private beach which was definitely worth a visit. The water was beautiful and the hotel offered free sunbeds to guests which was perfect. The beach had all facilities including a bar and everything was very reasonable in terms of costs. The hotel room was nice and airy and the beds very comfortable and room really quiet and dark. the breakfast was great. The only downside is we did not have transport and the hotel advertised with free shuttles to town but when we arrived they were fully booked for the two days we were there (we were told this was due to an events going on in town - but feel these were planned and should have been catered for) so we had to get taxis costing £15-20 euros each way. The hotel has a nice setting for meals in the evening but definitely recommend going into town for this and there is not much to do in the evening and the hotel entertainment was not good. Would recommend this hotel to families and people with their own cars (we had private transfer here but very difficult to get to without a car).
Bit of a walk to the beach
Jane Eon 09/08/2017 16:33A bit tricky to find using the sat nav but a lovely hotel. Near Cefalu, about 10-15 minutes drive. Parking in Cefalu not too bad. Beautiful town and well worth visiting. It's a bit of a walk to the beach from the hotel but once there it's lovely with beds and umbrellas provided by the hotel. Reasonable bar on the beach. We had a room in the annex, not the main hotel, but it was fine.
