Good Value Cheap Hotel

We enjoyed our stay here late August - beginning of September, it was a last minute holiday and we wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful that we weren't going to spend much time actually in the hotel. For that purpose it was excellent. We booked a small basic room, which was on the small side but was clean and modern and had a large bathroom. One of our first holidays away as a couple so my only real complaint about the room would be that the walls are thin, and the toilet door had no lock so was difficult to shut fully... The facilities are good, there's a decent size outdoor pool and sun loungers (all free to use) and an indoor pool and jacuzzi spa that you have an hours free use of.
The location was good for us as we spent all our days out exploring the region, it's about 20mins to the beach and within 40mins of the Pyrenees. The hotel is in a small village with just two bars, one main restaurant (very good food) and two pizza takeaways it's not very touristy and is very quiet. Despite quite a full car park we hardly saw any other guests with just a few tables eating in the hotel restaurant. We enjoyed this because it was peaceful but if you want lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance or a hotel with lots going on this probably isn't the place for you.
We were really impressed by the staff here, very friendly welcoming and attentive.
All in all great for what we wanted.
Excellent

We stayed here at the end of July with a child and a dog. The hotel staff were excellent, friendly, spoke English (although I did use my limited French!) and were very helpful. The room was large with 2 separate rooms, 1 with a king sized bed, 1 with a sofa bed and a large bathroom. It had air conditioning in each room through vents which was silent and controlled by a panel on the wall. The room was perfect, modern, clean and very comfortable - I could have easily spent a week here. We used the pool, which was large, clean and had sun loungers. The area around the hotel has a lot of space, which was great for walking the dog (on the lead). We ate dinner there, the menu was tapas or a french menu. I am a very fussy eater so together with the waitress we managed to decide on a dish, it was delicious. Breakfast was a typical continental with pasties, baguettes, toast, fruit, jams, yoghurts, ham, cheese etc. All very tasty and filling.
I can't fault any part of our stay and I would highly recommend this hotel. We used it as a stop off while travelling to Spain, but you could happily stay here for a week very comfortably. We will definitely be using this hotel again.
Great Value, Very Nice Place

This was booked at the last minute when faced with poor weather in the Dordogne. Our expectations were not high as it was mid August. We found a really well designed, large room, impeccably clean, a super, very large pool (not enough sun-loungers) staff very friendly, welcoming staff. Breakfast is excellent - not cooked although hard boiled eggs were there - but fruits, cereals, yoghurts, cold meats, cheeses, etc - and we had one evening meal in in five nights and it was very good and good value. A limited menu, however.
The location is a weak spot - there is nothing much in Alenya apart from a really fun bar resto called Al Moussec (try the paella based on pasts - min for 2 booked a day in advance and the brochettes). It is very easy to get to places such as Collioure, Argeles, Ceret etc. There are super beaches after Port Vendres.
We would use again - it was really good value.
Almost Excellent

We travelled to Alenya to watch Wigan Warriors V Catalan Dragons in Perpignan and fancied somewhere out of town.So glad we did.
This hotel is in a quiet little town with not much but a very friendly Spar, but don't let that put you off. Just twenty minutes from Perpignan and the same to some of the most beautiful beaches with the Pyrenees as a back drop.
The bedrooms have are accessed from outdoor corridors and have lovely balconies overlooking the terraces. The main selling point is the almost empty large swimming pool and sunbed area with it's pretty colourful flowers surrounding it.
The breakfast was better than expected in the south of France and staff were french, english, irish and spanish, and very friendly.
I was reluctant to give an excellent rating because the bar shuts at 11pm and anyone still around is left with no doubt that the staff want you to go to bed. It;s a shame because at all other times this is a great place to stay. Couples/families will love it but stay away if travelling as single sex group.
Quiet location

Booked a week with friends based on booking.com website, turned out to be a good choice.
When we first arrived were a bit concerned by the lack of cars in the car park
and it was quiet but a lot of guests were out for the day,
This is a very nice hotel with good sized comfortable rooms a big swimming pool
and nice grounds, breakfast was excellent with a good choice.
The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you, also good location for
visiting the area.
Would certainly recommend.
