We stayed at Celebrity Holiday Hotel Huashuiwan several months ago, and had a overall pleasant experience there. The resort was huge and features a hot spring, which is free to hotel guests. The room is big but is not designed in a 5-star manner. The bathroom is designed in such a way that, when taking a bath, water can easily flow into the room. Also, the room had a strange odor. The housekeeping staff were helpful and friendly, but the front desk staff were not. We asked the front desk staff about how to go back to Chengdu several times, and all of them gave different answers. Overall, this hotel is the best in the Dayi region, but given the sub-par service and room, I will think twice about whether I should stay in this hotel if I visit Dayi again.

Advertised as a 5* hotel, this place does not quite reach that standard, but a good 4* is a fair comment. Friendly and efficient check in (although no English at all) . The rooms are lovely, spacious, clean with a good view of the mountains. A nice balcony with a bath or shower that overlooks the view too. The hot springs are natural and therefore smell a bit sulphurous but with lovely mineral rich water at 43 degrees great to relax in. There is a water park for the kids and plenty of beauty treatments for the grown ups. No more sitting in a spa with your feet in a bowl of water being nibbled by fish, here you sit in the warm waters covered totally by little fish a bargain at only 38rmb. Other treatments include massage, mud baths and salt or sand burial. A beautiful area too you can hire a bicycle and go exploring. Breakfast was very Chinese but tasty, the toaster didn't really work and there was no butter only jam, but what the hell I enjoyed it!

We checked into this hotel in huashuiwan on 29/3 . My husband has asked his friend in Chengdu to do the booking for us over email. The email shows 2 days accommodation at 1000rmb & a airport transfer back to chengdu airport on 31/3 at 720rmb.
On the 2 nd day, we decided to try the massage service. At the Spa & massage centre,We were persuaded by d stuff to take up a 'full body detox package' at 980rmb for 80min. Two of us were asked to go into 2 separate room to start our massage. I found it strange that there is no proper massage bed but the sweet young girl said doing it on the bed is the same. She claimed to be very experience.
After about 1 hour into the 'rubbing', the phone in my room rang. The masseur answered then told me' it is about time. Today I am doing it very slowly , to complete the body massage you have to top up hours.' At that point in time, she just completed rubbing my back , front & she was rubbing my right leg. Honestly she is hardly a qualified masseur. I have massage rather frequently & I am sure she is not well trained. I hesitated then the phone rang again. She told me I need one more hour. I was pissed off. I told her to finish off what she could do within the remaining minutes.
Then I met my husband who had the same encounter in the next room.
I am very shocked by the fact that the hotel resorted to dishonest mean to siphon more cash out from their customer. This is simply disgusting. China is making economic progress as a whole but the huashuiwan owner clearly shows us that economic progress alone is not enough.they are very poor in any other aspects. They have to change that too. The management should ask themselves a simple question: why do people choose to stay with them? They are not cheap they are not even 'clean'. Above all that , we now found that they are dishonest greedy people waing to cheat on their customers!
In addition, when we confirmed our pick up time to airport, they simply raised the fee for airport
transfer .
I am now back at Singapore, I hope my review can be useful to those who intend to check into
Celebrity hotel chain.

It was the most expensive hotel we had paid in our holiday however the services and hotel was not impressive at all. Firstly, we were being informed that the 5 star hotel has not heater when we called from our room. We find it such a joke that such a highly rated hotel has no heater. So we went down all the way to the reception again, to seek assistance. Thankfully, there is heater or else we will be frozen up in the room!
During breakfast, we had to share tables with other guests as there were not enough tables. Quality of breakfast - edible
Lastly, the hotel did not even bother to assist foreign guests like us who do not drive to the hotel. When we requested for any shuttle bus/car to get to the main road which is just 2km away, the staff said the bus might come or not, so instead of waiting we can just walk with the cooling air. So, we had to walked 2km with our luggages bag with us.
Basically, the hotel has nothing special except for its section of hotspring and spa. Otherwise, it can be skipped. Rather than spending time and money at Huashuiwan, go to Xiling Snow Mountain
