I have had varied experiences at hotels, from good to bad. This was the worst hotel stay i have ever had!A group of friends stayed at this place and most had a horrible experience. I stayed four nights, and my room was partially serviced one time! The bedspread was pulled up and some towels left, and that was it!!! The maid, yes one, couldn't keep up and her and the on site manager were arguing. The morning I was to leave, there was a handwritten note left under my door saying my money would be refunded. I waited a week and when it was not credited to my credit card i called. He offered a return of one night. That is not what the note said! He told me to contest the charge. I have. I would warn everybody to stay at the other hotel in Carlyle and avoid this place!!!

Honestly I've stayed at several hotels including a recent stay at the RIU Montego Bay which is supposedly a four star hotel. This hotel was clean and comfortable. There aren't alot of frills or elevator music which I am fine without. However, the sheets and floors and restroom were clean, the air conditioning was excellent, customer service was awesome and I felt like I could actually relax. If you are looking for a place to stay for the day or weekend while visiting the Lake or Carlyle then this is the place. It is simply a hotel with clean, comfortable rooms with a pool and free breakfast. Probably one of the best that you will find in the area. My experience was walking in on a Saturday requesting a last minute check-in. Not only was the front desk agent friendly enough to let me use the internet in order to make an attempt to book through trip advisor, but when the website wasn't participating the agent went ahead and provided a discount because it was already later in the day and they did not have a full house. Almost immediately the agent offered extra towels for swimming and after my questioning the quality of the rooms the advised that the rooms were of good quality and that if I experienced any issues that they would be resolved immediately. I will place the experience at this hotel above most in it's class. BTW, there is a restaurant next door to the hotel that has a pretty good menu. Enjoy your time at the lake!!!

While traveling for business, I decided to stay at this location due to the fact that the only other hotel in the area was booked.
I would have been better off sleeping in my car because the person that checked me in(I think he was the owner), was rude and lacked any semblance of good customer service!!
The beds were uncomfortable, the room dated and in need of "deep cleaning" and they offer no amenities, so forget about it!
My suggestion to anyone even considering staying at this motel... DON'T DO IT TO YOURSELF, spend a couple extra dollars and book a room at the only other hotel in the area!!

If you are looking for luxury, this is not the hotel for you, but if you are looking for a clean hotel at reasonable prices, this will do.
My main concern when traveling is if a hotel is clean and this one fit the bill. Though there were some issues, I would not hesitate to stay here again if I were going to be in the area. We spent 3 nights here. The beds were not all that comfortable, I felt it was a little to saggy, my husband felt it was a little too firm. The linens were nothing special but they were clean and soft, not scratchy. The blankets were old and could stand to be replaced but they were ok.
The room had a small fridge and microwave with a coffee pot. You could use either the coffee pot or the mircrowave, but not both, as you had to unplug one to plug in the other. A minor annoyance for one night, a PITA for 3 nights. A power strip here would solve the problem, but there are probably regulations against that.
The other issue I had concerned housekeeping. We reserved the room for 3, it slept 4 and they had the room set up for 2. They left the coffee pot dirty every day and forgot to put a liner into the garbage can. Minor annoyances.
I had to get my key replaced every day after check out, it seems its expired at noon.
The breakfast definitely needs improving. They had apples out that I wouldn't want to fee to a horse, they were old and shriveled. THe coffee pots were empty more than they were full and they didnt always put out the yogurt. Just toast, cereal, waffles and yogurt were what was offered, besides the dead fruit.
The pool was ok, not large, but it was clean. It is in the sun in the morning and shaded in the afternoon. The wifi was free and worked fine.

It was a nice stay. Clean. Pleasant. Price was right for what you get. Staff helpful when we ordered 14 pizzas for the baseball players. Would like to see seating outside because the summer nights were nice, and had to make our own seating areas. Breakfast is for the "in a hurry" crowd.
