Upon arrival you're greeted by bored and rude people. In other hostels I've stayed in you get a big welcoming, a tour, and information about what's around, here all you get is judgemental looks and a bad attitude. They give you a key and send you on your way, they don't show you your room or tell you where anything is. The toilets are okay, but men use the women's toilet despite there being a men's one. No locks on the showers meaning anyone can walk in at any time, poorly lit and pretty gross. The rooms are unkempt and have limited power points. The only reason this hostel is getting 2 stars is because the beds were actually comfortable. The top bunks have no ladder and no safety barrier so if you have a death wish then go ahead. Oh and the wifi only works in the downstairs reception area where you would have to sit on dirty couches with the rude staff lol. Don't bother here.

    Avoid at all cost

My friend and I had just left a horrible hostel hoping to find something better. Well... I cried (for real) when I saw the room and how dirty the hostel was. The kitchen is gross aswell. We immediately asked to cancel the reservation but it was not possible ! Staff was nice tho..
We were two girls sleeping with five creepy guys doing drugs in the room, turning the light on when everybody was sleeping and talking very loud. We were really scared for our lives. We had to buy sheets from Primark as the ones in the hostel are obviously not changed from one customer to another. There was vomit in the bathroom etc.. we found a proper room and left two days in advance, with no refund of course. Close that thing, it's clearly not safe.

    Would never stay again

I was in London for a concert which was booked last minute so I only booked to stay here 24 hours before my trip, so there wasn't much in the way of affordable choice. I paid £80 for a private room which was OK for central London on a Saturday.

However, I wish I would have paid more to stay somewhere nicer! When we arrived after walking 30 minutes to find the place in 30 degree weather we were told they don't accept card payments and the nearest cash machine was 10 minutes away- so make sure to bring cash. The Hostel staff were very unfriendly, unwelcoming and generally acted like they didn't want to be there.

There are older people there just day drinking at 2pm, clearly drunk and living in the Hostel so there wasn't much of an atmosphere- myself and my partner made sure we avoided the common areas at all costs. We didn't need to use the kitchen during our stay, and I'm glad we didn't as it was filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned for a long time.

When we arrived in our private room it was very basic which is to be expected however I didn't expect the bathroom to be so dirty. The toilet was filthy as was the shower. The shower didn't work properly with no hot water and I couldn't actually turn the shower off- I spoke to the Hostel staff to tell them I couldn't turn the shower off and the lady shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing they could do. I told her I will just be leaving the shower on all night then and she eventually reluctantly called maintenance to fix the shower. The shower also broke in the morning when I had another shower and we just left the shower running when we checked out.

In summary- spend your money elsewhere and don't bother with this place.

Unique and acceptable place to stay

The rooms were not bad and bathrooms clean. You can get a great nights sleep here thought the general guest area is very small. The kitchen and storage for food are above average. Most the staff are friendly and travelers a good crowd, friendly and like to talk with all. Having to say there has only one huge down side and that is that travelers have to book with a deposit online or you cannot stay. This is a huge downside and needs to be changed if they wish to fill every bed almost all the time. I would give them a 8.5 out of 10 on the positive side. My wife is from Spain and me American and we both liked the place until we couldn't book with a deposit online and had to leave late at night. We had the cash, but this rule seems to be their firm stance.

    Worst hostel I've ever seen

    Eva K on 28/05/2017 16:59

A friend of mine recommended this hostel, honestly don't know how!

I was barely able to find the entrance and carry the suitcase down the killer stairs. The common room is small and doesn't have a friendly vibe - drunk people talking to themselves. When I got to my room, which I also had trouble finding because it was hidden behind doors who looked like fire escape exit, I entered and left immediately!

The room was small, smelly and dirty, no place to put your luggage on the floor because of all the other people's stuff just lying around everywhere.

Honestly, the whole place looks more like a crack house you would see in the movies.

I checked in and out in less then 10 minutes, of course no refund but I wouldn't stay there even if someone paid me good money.
