What People are saying

Absolutely bizarre...

Franglais12on 11/07/2016 07:10

... when I rang to book this place the male who answered the phone just put it down on me. As I wasn't far away I persevered and drove to it.

Outside I was bugged by a young beggar who seemed to think that he owned the public car park. The hotel paid him off with a packet of crisps.

The hotel is very old and has the most bizarre bathroom that I've ever been in!

I hope my picture shows it.

Depending on what you, er, want to do, you have to slide the wash basin over the toilet or the bidet! The space for the toilet was so small that only a small child would be able to sit on it.

Only good point was the balcony with a sea view (looking over the main railway station admittedly)

90 euros including breakfast (croissant and a yoghurt) and parking (10 euros)

Very noisy. Not recommended (Unless you are a deaf midget!)

Great location for train travellers,but......

We wanted somewhere to stay between two train journeys and this hotel is in the square opposite the train station, and close to the main Street and to the centre of town and the beach. So ten out of ten so far.
But the hotel is shabby , the breakfast better avoided and the people in reception included two very surly men.

subject to ...

Rooms are of very poor quality - we had a double bed with a cupboard above our heads so with no doubt my companion knocked his head on it :( . The room was clean but the fridge not working... we had to ask the reception who did'nt succeed to fix it. Very very noisy place as the hotel is just right in front of the main train station and trains are running all night long... enjoy in summer time when sleeping with the window open :(
Air con is subject to additional charge as well as the parking for which they asked 15 euros/day (you have no choice as parkmeters are everywhere), for the dog 15 euros/day. WIFI non existant apparently working??? Receptionist not very nice besides the 2 girls working there daytime.
Last but not least: we forgot a pull over which was not found. Well, it was the second time that we went there and the last one as we prefer to pay a bit more but have some confort.

What a great place to stay

Not the newest of hotels, but this family run hotel offers all you would want. Great views from the rooms towards the Mediterranean, friendly staff although they prefer it if you speak Italian, (but that goes for everywhere in Italy I noticed), a clean room and a decent selection of breakfast foods.

Location is fabulous. 20 meters from the railway station, and 100 meters from the beach. I would stay here again. But I would need to be lucky enough to be able to visit this really beautiful piece of Italian Mediterranean coastline again.

TIP: traveling through Italy by train is really convenient! Great rail network, very good prices.

Has potential

I chose this hotel mainly for its excellent location: next to the train station, close to the water, and central location in the town of Bordighera. A number of minor annoyances with the Wi-Fi, elevator, toilet flushing, slow draining shower and the Chihuahua didn’t seem to care for some guests. Mosquitos seemed to be getting in the room in the evenings through the vent in the shower. The man at the front desk could go a little more out of his way to be friendly and helpful.
