Chachagua Ecolodges was welcoming with lots of birds and animals visible on the property. Enjoyed breakfast with toucans, monkeys and variety of birds. Diego our morning rainforest walk guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable. Staff was welcoming and friendly, food was great and reasonably priced. Overall very positive stay!

My husband and I celebrated our 28 year wedding anniversary at Chachagua last week! This beautiful sanctuary is nestled in Chachagua Rainforest. We rented the King Bungalow with a private deck and hammock. The food (both American and Traditional Costa Rican) was very good! The staff was friendly and our host "Diego," went above and beyond to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay. We hiked one of the 3 trails on the property and the next day I did the private horseback riding tour, which also included a hiking trail down to a water hole. We rented a car for our stay and visited the local town of Fortuna, which was adventurous! It rained daily (and sometimes poured); we went during rainy season. Oddly enough, that was the perfect weather for our cozy stay in the jungle! We saw a few hummingbirds, toucans, salamanders and we believe we saw 2 monkeys! I could say more, but I will end by saying that we definitely plan to return with our adult children and grandbabies, hopefully soon!

Enveloped in nature and very near all of the splendid attractions of the region. Mostly off the grid with WiFi available but no cell or TV, which is desirable. Cabins are clean, quaint, and semi-private. I give this resort my highest rating. Would stay here again.

We cannot put into words how fantastic Chachagua was. We stayed for a week and were welcomed and made to feel at home by everyone we came into contact with. the staff was amazing!! They went out of their way to make sure we were having a good time. If you stay here ( which you should!) going on a hike with Diego is an absolute must!! You will see amazing things in the rain forest and also be delighted by someone who tells worse jokes than you :).
The grounds of the lodge are the most beautiful of any place we have seen. The landscaping is perfection and the different tiny lizards and humming birds just really make you feel like you're in another world.
There are obviously bugs, as there are any place, but we did not see ANY in our bungalow for the entire week we were there! Our bungalow was very very comfortable, private and clean. the shower was very relaxing and you could watch the birds on the trees right outside the window.
Not only is there a ton of things to see and do on the property, but they will assist you in sight seeing off site with no problem. We went off site most days and they had a cab there for us within an hour each time. Our cab driver was fantastic and we felt extremely comfortable with his driving and the rates we were charged.
We cannot say enough about this place, it was perfect! I have never been so sad to leave a vacation spot!! Please if you are at all thinking about staying here, DO IT you will absolutely not be disappointed!!!!!

We spent 3 nights here on our Honeymoon. It's the off-season now, and the place was nearly empty. The suite was very nice, and had pretty good airflow, so it didn't get too hot. The staff there was very nice, and the restaurant had some really good food.
The only slightly negative thing I could say about this place is that it takes a lot of landscaping/groundskeeping to keep it nice and well-groomed, so you can hear weedwhackers somewhere on the property for most of the day.
