Arrived late, staff very quick and kind. Hotel reception clean and polite, but my room... down a long, thin corridor, barely room to manouever cases, round two corners. Door opens to a small, clean room, television squint, too hot, window open. Get to sleep v quickly but am awoken by the weight of a body beside my legs, wake up and hear an old women muttering something. Thinking it's the cleaner i turn on the light to ask her to leave but when i do there is nobody there. Didn't sleep much after that.
Coffee was good at breakfast.
Nothing dries.

I have a mixed view of this hotel. Location was pretty good though possibly not if you are looking to be in the heart of the nightlife. Not far from Central station (though uphill) and Metro station a stones throw away. Breakfast was good in a bright room looking onto the street. Staff were good. There is one lift. it goes to the sixth floor. The seventh floor is not just up one set of stairs but by a route around the sixth floor, through a door, then upstairs and through another door. Going back down in the morning was more of a problem because someone on another floor would call it and it would go back down. Also, it wouldn't hold more than two people with luggage. The room was slightly dismal though clean enough. The shower was in the bath with a small shield which meant that the bathroom floor was invariably wet. The radiators weren't able to be controlled and were not switched on so towels (and any wet clothes) stayed damp, even though Brussels was actually very warm. The bed was very soft, although comfortable. Also, not the hotels fault, but there was a strong smell of marijuana from one of the other rooms. Obviously this type of smoke is not detected. It could me smelt in my room and it is not a smell I am very fond of.
Bit of a mixed bag

I stayed for three nights when I was attending a conference. It is not an area I would normally have thought to stay, even though it was very close to where to conference was. But I would certainly consider staying in the area again. I was on the top floor, facing the street. It had a balcony which I did take the opportunity to look out (and it was a great view). Although others have commented on the street noise, it did not cause me any issues at all.
The room itself was an adequate size for a single traveller, although it was rather cold - partly no doubt because the room service choose to leave the door to the balcony ajar, presumably to let in fresh air. Hopefully they don't do it in the depths of winter, this made it "fresh" enough.
The two big cons were that the Internet was, to all intents and purposes, non-existent - it was VERY slow when I first arrived, and I was unable to get on it again after then. I was not the only one of those from my conference who had that problem, although others had no issues at all. I don't know if it was "luck" (of the good or bad variety), but it seems really basic to have good, reliable internet in this day and age. Even reporting this led to no improvement in service. The other issue was that the towels are very worn and could really do with replacing.
On the plus side, the staff were really nice and friendly, and the breakfast was wide-ranging (albeit that things such as the fruit salad were from tins, as (from the taste) probably was the orange juice.
If it wasn't for the Internet I would consider staying here again, and one hopes that the hotel will do the upgrading to various parts mentioned above which would make it a lovely hotel.
Confortable

The room was clean and confortable, with an amazing view on the court if justice! Staff was very polite. But there was no coffee machine in the room, and no minibar either. Breakfast was on. It's a confortable hotel but not a luxury one
Good hotel

I visited Brussels with 6 friends, we had 3 rooms at the Hotel Chambord. Overall the hotel was very nice.
My room was lovely and bright but because we was on the road side it was very noisy. The window had to be shut otherwise it was too loud to sleep.
My friends room was on the other side to mine and their room was very dark. The room only had a small window which didn't let any light come through. It was also very warm. One call down to reception though and they put the air con on which soon cooled the room down.
On our second night the hot water went off. Never great for 4 women trying to get ready for an evening out. However we did survive and when we let receptionist know they did everything in their power to get the water fixed.
The breakfast was really nice, we was only expecting a continental breakfast but was pleasantly surprised when we were offered scrabbled egg and bacon. The pastries were delicious too!!
Overall it was a nice stay, the location was good too with approx a 10 minute walk to all the main attractions.
