Our stay in October was very peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was overall very good. The staff's service was exceptional! The grounds were very well maintained. The mattress and the pillows could stand to be updated, but the view from our balcony was outstanding. We plan to visit again in the near future.

This place is ok but very dated. Needs a redo. Some new paint and brighter colors would make a world of difference. The furniture and etc. in the rooms look like they were grandma’s. However it has one heck of a view and also extremely quiet. The breakfast in the morning is ok - not bad not great.

Stayed at Oceangate in early September. Very accommodating front desk staff. Attractive room with balcony overlooking part of the bay. Comfortable bed. Quiet environment. It appeared that the owners had recently made on-site improvements. Free breakfast was below average.

Ocean Gate after Labor Day is very quiet. Breakfast is more than adequate. Staff is friendly and competent. Room was clean with its own deck, and the grounds are inviting and private, wooded and secluded. The property is hilly, which may influence some prospective customers. An easy drive to Boothbay Harbor.

The photos of this resort look better than it actually is. Overall, the place needs updating or renovations. The grounds are very rustic and the room is more like a cabin than a resort. I was disappointed.
