Very accommodating kind owners and comfortable house. Breakfast was delicious. Cakes and hot drinks on arrival and wet clothes dealt with! Very kindly gave us a lift into Alnwick. Overall, lovely couple, home from home atmosphere and roaring fire to dry out our gear. Would definitely recommend.
Very good beds, excellent breakfast

Janet made me very welcome, parking was easy & my room was well furnished with a high standard of accessories. Room and en-suite bathroomm squeaky clean, big fluffy bath towels and very comfy bed. Breakfast was exceptional, with a wide range of items to choose from. I treated myself to a traditional breakfast by choosing exactly what I wanted from the list, and the time I wanted to eat. Not only looked good but tasted good with farm cured bacon, proper sausages and a properly cooked tomato. Fresh brewed coffee in a cafetiere completed a no rush meal. I only stayed one night, as I was breaking a long journey, but would happily use it for a much longer stay. Good value, quiet and well placed for lots of local attractions.
Great fun experience

My wife and I are over 65 but felt like a couple of kids in this fantastic environment. It really is a tree house! All the furniture is rustic and rough hewn. Very impressive. I chose a good old fashioned prawn cocktail followed by Northumberland sausage. The cocktail was stuffed to the brim with prawn and I can only award it a great 9! The sausage(s) came on a bed of beautifully smooth mash and the best onion gravy I've had in ages. I give it a 9 as I think there was just a little too much on the plate.
My wife had cabbage steak! She gave it a straight 10 as she did for the ginger pudding and custard.
The staff were efficient and friendly and gave us a few tips on where to go next.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend it to all.
sausage came on a bed of beautiful mash

We stayed here for one night on a cycling tour. I booked via the web, but I wanted to confirm the booking by phone and unfortunately I found it impossible to contact the B&B by phone: my calls were not answered and the messages I left were not returned. I was very worried that I had parted with my money to a rogue web site.
However, the B&B did turn out to exist and we were given a very warm welcome, with home-made cakes and tea. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bedrooms had every facility we could have needed. Our bikes were stored safely under cover. Breakfast was beautifully presented, and included fresh fruit salad and a wide choice of cooked meals. However, the kipper I ordered was dried up and tough - kippers can be much better if prepared properly.
