Stayed at Chiang Mai Mansion for 2 months. Visited Manager in person prior to moving in to finalise details of rent, expenses etc. I was told 7,000bht per month for rent plus 1,000 bht for electricity plus minor costs for water and wi-fi. First month electricity 3,300bht so I queried it as lady staying in the room next door to me for long term only gets bill for 1,000bht. I was given no reasonable explanation, also no formal bill from electricity authority as each room has a meter. Just a piece of paper on which she had written amount. Second month same thing happens. I was not supplied with towels, I had my own bed linen. I had to pay extra to have my room cleaned at my request, and paid for my linen to be washed. The electricity bill was double what I had paid in a previous condo for six months with 2 airconditioners 3 rooms and a stove. The Manager Sunee did not at any time speak to me about this matter, the staff member who was responsible for giving me the bad news spoke no English. So I can only say very bad experience, just another Farang rip off. Would never stay there again. There are plenty of other good places for this price.

Have been at CM Mansion for a few months now and we love it. The staff and owner are very nice and really look after their guest. Large rooms, which are well maintained, any problems are dealt with quickly, and both the rooms and common areas are kept spotlessly clean. The location is fantastic, with everything on your doorstep.

I loved staying here. The rooms were cleaned every day and got fresh towels. The room is big with a full size fridge and a large bathroom with a hot shower. The air conditioning was quick and needed in the hot weather. The location is great next to the night market, several great restaurants and 7 eleven is less than a block away. The have laundry service for very cheap. 2 water bottles a day in the room and coffee packets. I highly recommend! They also let us borrow their phone several times which was a huge help!

Big room; everything quite new; fridge; air con. Wife and I stayed on 5th floor - top floor so far - but there are stairs going up to two more floors that haven't yet been built. Construction noise most of the day. We could see natural light through the gaps in the ceiling tiles - it hasn't rained, so we haven't found out if the temporary roof is waterproof. The 5th floor would not be suitable for a toddler or anyone with a sleepwalking issue as the end of the corridor has little to stop you falling off the building. Towels are made of some fabric that is completely non absorbent. Almost 4 linear metres of wardrobes. Wash basin has two taps - both cold only. Hotel might be good when completed. King size bed but extremely hard - baby elephant wouldn't make much of an indentation in mattress. Picturesque view from large window in early morning of minarets of mosque against the mountains and pink sky, but the 5.30am call to prayer is not ideal wake up - couldn't the faithful just be texted instead? No daily room service so far (3 days).

We got here at 5am and they were nice enough to give us a blanket so we can take a nap in the lobby since there wasn't any room available until check in time. Everyone was really nice. After an hour they informed us that they didn't have any rooms left, even though we already had a reservation. They took us to a different hotel which had bed bugs and was poorly maintained. Went back to hotel and asked for our money back. When we asked the manager why the hotel was still available on hotels.com when she said it wasn't she couldn't give us a reason why. We were really looking forward to staying here since it had really good reviews but it looked like they had overbooked. Not sure how often this happens.
