The hotel is in the very center of Chicago. As always with American hotels, the more you pay, the less you get. They charge $15 for WiFi in the room unless you add some garbage to your cell phone. Overall it's a good hotel with excellent beds and AC and large enough rooms. Our receptionist had an attitude, was deliberately slow, and answered "no" to all our reasonable requests. Their parking has perhaps the most idiotic rule: enforced pickup time at 4 PM. So if you park, say, at 2PM you pay $61 for a full day till 4PM, and if you leave at 8AM next day you pay for another full day! To our surprise, it seems that the hotel does not offer room service, but leaves a bottle of water for $3 (you have it free at any cheap hotel, of course).

I loved this Hotel. The location was perfect. Great restaurants are so close and there is a great shopping two doors down.
DuJuan in the coffee shop is amazing and always has a smile. The lobby is always buzzing with energy and great drinks.
If I return to Chicago this is where I would stay.

I was a little nervous about my stay as a lot of reviews for this property have been so grim.
However I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed my stay. Staff were consistently excellent - definitely a step up from both the Gwen and the W Chicago Lakeshore which were the properties where I was expecting better treatment.
Platinum Marriott status was recognized and while there was no room upgrade, I was very thankful to be given one of the newly renovated rooms. Clean, comfortable and fairly sized.
The club lounge was excellent although I do lament the lack of opening during the weekend in the US - guests staying on the weekend still want to use the lounge! The evening food offerings are particularly good. It would be nice if breakfast variety was changed more frequently and maybe something like cookies left with the fruit during the day. But those are just small suggestions, I thought the lounge was great.
Conference facilities were good although air conditioning was brutally cold much of the time. There is no need to try to replicate outside freezing temperatures!
The bar area in the evening is busy with a good atmosphere.
Only negative point was that when buying a couple of snacks in the stop and go shop in the lobby, the woman looked quite clearly put out that I didn't fill in the tip line to tip her. I'm not sure I understand why it's warranted that someone receive a tip for swiping a couple of items and collecting payment - admittedly I'm not used to American culture but I didn't think this was necessary.
Otherwise a very nice stay.

The hotel was conveniently located on the Mag Mile. Rooms were good. The only issue I had was that we must have been located across from the maid's closed. All night we heard the door slamming, so we really didn't get much sleep at all.

Stayed here for 5 days for business. It’s a busy buzzing hotel where there was always people enjoying conversation and drinks in the lobby bar. The location is perfect near restaurants and great shopping. The room was spacious (I liked the North Tower room better than the south tower room I was originally assigned to). They accommodated my request graciously. The WiFi was a bit tricky. You had to constantly re-log in and after being told that it would not be a charge I did observe a small change of $4.95 plus taxes on my account for wifi. Everyone was nice and had great customer service. One doorman looked away to avoid having to open the taxi door in the rain, but the taxi driver and I just laughed because we both caught him doing it. The service is truly exceptional in most areas. There were ambulances and sirens every few minutes and we heard the noise in our room. I would stay at this location again.
