Convenient when you fly into Chicago Midway, the Marriott has both shuttle service and ample parking, rooms with mini kitchens, and a Starbucks in the lobby. I’ve stayed twice and enjoyed both. Solid and reliable choice

I wish I could do better by this hotel. But I honestly cannot. Stayed here two weeknights on business travel. I would not recommend it for that purpose.
Pluses: The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. And each is extremely well lit, a rarity nowadays. The staff really does try hard and is very accommodating--IMO, they are simply overwhelmed by the number of guests and the physical characteristics of the hotel.
Minuses: Initial check-in took 20 min for a person to find a room and happened only when two other staff members came to help. When I went to that room, it was not clean--very messy bed, ironing board in the center of the room, bathroom a mess, etc. Returned to lobby, finally got another room. The room key for the new room failed to work for reentry on day 1, so I once again had to go to the lobby desk to get a new key. None of the designated keys, e.g., messages, at your service, work on the room phone. There is some kind of pervasive faintly sweet smell permeating the hotel, especially the elevators. The noise level in the lobby was extremely loud and hurtful both nights; even the staff found said they found it distracting. If this is the norm, something should really be done to close off the bar/restaurant from the lobby. One cannot realistically sit and rest in the lobby or talk to the staff at reception. The concierge lounge is relatively small, but seems to accommodate its visitors. The staff here are also very friendly. Entrees at breakfast or dinner are very good. Lack of a green salad at dinner is a deficit.
As said, I would like to be more positive, if only because the staff try to do their best, but a number of issues prevent anything better than an average review. Perhaps if there is a major physical rebuild over the next year or two, as I understand is planned, it will alleviate or be easier to improve upon perceived weaknesses. Until then, this place might be OK for a short stay for travel to/from Midway, but if you are visiting Chicago for business and looking for standard Marriott accoutrements, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

The staff was friendly, very inviting and very professional. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. My wife and I stay all over the country in random hotels. Marriott just got regulars because of the staff at this hotel.

I Had A Great Stay! Would Definitely Do It Again. It's Close To The Airport For Easy Traveling And Short Stays. The Manager Was Very Helpful And Pleasant. The Rooms Were Clean Which Makes For A Great Stay.
