In this restaurant you can choose the buffet or the menu, I opted for the second, for I wanted quality instead of quantity. The dish I chose was a simple chicken/rice/consommé combination, let’s avoid complicated recipes: the chicken was almost cold and raw, rice normal boiled rice, consommé just a cup of hot water. All this for 28 SGP dollars. Service is cold and impersonal. What happened that night in the kitchen? My advice is: cross the road and choose one of the different Arabic/Turkish/Lebanese restaurant of the Arab district: much much better.

Ma Laht - that wonderful combination of spice that characterizes authentic Si Chuan food is here in abundance.
The dishes were spicy and exactly as you want them if you are a true lover of Si Chuan food. The MaPoDoFu and Gan Bian Si Ji Dou were excellent, as was the chicken.
Much to recommend - but its as close to authentic Si Chuan as one can find outside of SiChuan - so be prepared!

The a la carte buffet of more than 100 dishes are overwhelming. They have all Si Chuan dishes mostly with numbing chilli oil. Do order the appetizing dishes to cleanse your palate after 20 dishes.
The service was good, even better if you can arrive early. Not so many diners around 11.30AM when we arrived. After which a group of tourists streaming in and the wait staff seems to be busy although you are still able to get their attention.
Dishes are hit and miss, some are well presented, tasty and well oil coated, while some are completely a turned off especially this fried flour with walnut and cherry. Dishes are presented in small plates. Very hard to go beyond 40 dishes although they have 100 over dishes. Bring an empty stomach. Order the Fish maw, cucumber, radish, deep fried cod fish and sea cucumber.
At $50++ per pax, you have to come in 4 pax to enjoy this buffet.

Good food. A family favourite. Although they tend to be understaffed on weekends. Tea refills are slow but food is prompt and done well.
