Tired guest house

whiterosesydneyon 17/07/2017 09:34

We stayed here one night. The guest house is tired and old. The host was not particularly warm and welcoming and he hardly knew who we were on arriving after our booking. Living room we were show was dark and felt damp and. Definitely not somewhere you you would want to relax in. Two flights of stairs to attic room which was our room with the smallest shower they could fit in. No hair shampoo or any nice toiletries. Towels old

Breakfast was nice and the hostess was very pleasant and chatty. I find the host himself quite over it all. Guest house looks nice on outside but definitely will not be back .overpriced

Lovely homely accommodating place

Wonderful guest experience with very friendly service and assistance from the owners. Felt welcomed and valued the moment arrived. Top notch breakfast and room was very nice. Very nice location with good links to surrounding areas and main trunk roads.

Gorgeous

I'm currenty staying here in this amazin little slice of Wales and it's incredible. The room I''m staying in is simple but incredibly comfortable ad the hosts are brilliant. Theres tons of hikes and nature near by to keep any nature lover busy for hours. The breakfasts are nice, if a bit small for larger apptities, but the nearest town (Monmouth) is only 2 miles away. Buses are semi regular and there are plenty of shops in Monmouth (though none in the village) and its within decent dstance of many atractions,

Surreal!

Words fail me to describe our visit. The term guest house implies that as a paying guest we would be made to feel welcome. Not a pleasant atmosphere at all and the furnishings and fittings are tired. Breakfast was hardly worth the word. Truly a strange experience. We won't be going there again.

Free upgrade

This is a very old building with steep stairs, low beams and awkward corners but I got a warm welcome and a free upgrade as the room I had booked was not ready. Wifi nothing spectacular but perfectly adequate and the breakfast very good. It's in a quite village about 2 miles from Monmouth.
