Arrived on a Saturday afternoon, receptionist very good. Room distinctly average with bathroom showing many years of wear and tear. Drinks at the bar an underwhelming experience. Bar service slow, unhelpful and definitely designed to let you know that only locals matter! We were visiting for a friend's celebration and I can not think of any other reason I would ever go back.

The staff were very friendly and the building is beautiful but we found the food wasn't very exciting flavour wise and the vegetarian option was poor. The soup was the same flavour as risotto. Tagliatelle tasted under cooked rather then al dente.

Arrived back on the Friday from a two night break. Loved this place, very quirky surroundings, the open fire in the lounge was added bonus especially with the weather getting colder,
Breakfast was very good, good choice and good fresh produce, Had the evening meal on the two nights, both were delicious and good choice on the menu,
Bedrooms were clean and comfortable , we stopped in one of the Queen premium rooms. Nice four poster bed , tea and coffee etc.
Found the staff to be very pleasant , a shout out to the really nice room maids , lovely ladies. In general all the staff seemed very helpful and enjoyed there job , liked how the manager was constantly chatting to staff and guests.
The area is great , short drive into Brixham or Dartmouth , ideal. We took our Springer with us she was made most welcome , dog biscuits , towel and throw were offered, the walks were great for her from the hotel.
We will be definitely be visiting again.

We attended a small family wedding here. Really enjoyed it - lovely venue and food was very generous portions for all three courses. The room we was seated in was perfect for a intimate wedding. The bar had a range of drinks and found all staff friendly especially our waitress during the meal.

We needed somewhere for a one night stay near Brixton and this hotel did the job. Looks stunning and in the main was fine. The rooms were very cold but did warm up once the heating was on. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant (big portions). The room was OK - nothing special and the bed a little hard. But overall good value for money. Many thanks
