OK for a night or two if you are on a budget

Citadines is a very basic and dated hotel. The rooms (I had a suite) are of a reasonable size and clean, though do look very tired. The reason I stayed here was due to it's location, it made taxi to and from my place of work quick and easy (20 minutes). If I stay down on the waterfront, Hilton Riverside, Holiday Inn, Marco Polo I have a 60-75 minute ride in very day. The breakfast is basic but adequate. The gym is good and the pool looked good though I didn't use it. The staff are this hotels strong point, very helpful and pleasant. There is a Metro station 2 minutes walk away and a Wanda Shopping Mall 15 minute walk (or 1 stop on the Metro) away.
Exceptional Staff

I have been in this hotel for almost six months now. The facilities is a little bit old but sufficient. However, the staff are exceptional. It's their care and smiles make me stay in this hotel. I have been to many higher star rated hotels, but this one makes me feel home.
The location is not in the centre of Wuhan, but it's very close to where I needed to work. So, it's a perfect business hotel.

My family of 4 spent about a week at the Citadines in June. We were very pleased with the Accomodations and price. For around $100 US per night we had a two bedroom/two bath suite with full kitchen. The Accomodations were quite comfortable and practical. After traveling for a week in China prior to that the washer/dryer that was in our suite was a godsend! Beds are comfortable by Chinese standards (all Chinese beds tend to be harder than US beds). The bathrooms were fine with low amperage 120volt outlets for low-draw devices such as shavers. Each bedroom had plenty of closet and drawer space, LOTS of electrical outlets, a television and an A/C. The TV offers an adequate amount of English channels. Even though there were two wifi routers in our suite the Internet was really hit-or-miss - at times slowing to a crawl and when it worked it was never that fast.
The kitchen has a multi-burner stove with vent hood, microwave, large fridge/freezer, water boiler, sink, washer/dryer and a selection of teas and instant coffee. They also supply all the pots, pans, dishes, dish towels and utensils you need for cooking.
Housekeeping was pretty good. They left us 4 complimentary bottles of water every time. I was not happy when they opened our windows one day and left them open as there are no screens and after that we had mosquitos in our apartment for the rest of the stay. That is a problem that needs to be corrected.
Service was good. When our first suite did not have the washer and dryer they quickly moved us to a new one and sent someone up to help move our bags. There seemed to be always someone there who spoke English. The pool was nice and never crowded.
The breakfast buffet had its ups and downs. Many of the buffet dishes are simply not kept hot enough. This seems to be a problem in all of China. They simply do not understand the dangers of bacteria growth when food is not kept hot. The temperatures of many of the foods would be illegal in the US. If you look back at the reviews here this is a complaint that has been shared for a long time and it is still not corrected so I imagine that it will never be corrected at this point even when they say that they will correct it. They have said it in the past and it is simply a lie because the problem remains. Nevertheless, there are other options available such as pastries, toast, fruit, etc..
The location is OK. There are many, many hotels in the area so you can find restaurants around and there is a grocery store 5-10 minutes walk away. I believe there is a Pizza Hut within walking distance but I didn't go there. The subway stop is a bit more than 5 minutes walk and one stop over is a very large and well-equipped mall with tons of eating options representing many countries, Starbucks, bars, etc... There is also a very busy Wal-Mart there and lots of entertainment options such as IMAX, a giant ball pit with big slides, an arcade, etc.
There is a mini-mart right across the driveway from the hotel which is very handy for basic needs such as snacks, water, etc..
This hotel caters to westerners for sure. One problem is that the name is ONLY in English and not Chinese. This is very unusual in China and can present a problem when trying to tell a taxi how to get there. It's best to be sure and always have one of their cards to show a taxi.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Citadines and we would stay there again and recommend it to others.
Home away from home in Wuhan

It was nice experience to stay in Citadines Wuhan. I like the breakfast and cooking facilities in the room, I also found gyms and laundry room, I'd like to use them next time. Citadines almost satisfied all I need when I travel away from home. Plus, hygiene, quiteness and comfort are also attactive to me...I wonder if I can get more discount ?
