Good hotel for an overnight stay

The hotel is centrally located, close to banks, shopping centers and restaurants. The room was average, good for an overnight hotel in such a small town. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. Breakfast is included and it is better than averrage for this type of hotels. I needed some copys and the people from the fron desk were kind enough to help me with them. The parking lot was nice and well illuminated at night.
Worst night in Juarez

Worst stay, unfriendly personnel. After a long day of work, decided to go to the hotel talk to my famili and relax. Turns out they can't transfer your calls, so I was unable to talk to my family that nite, and then parking is a big issue as well. Just never coming back.
Decent hotel

Staff was friendly and courteous. The room was kind of small and average feel. The shower water pressure was lacking. Enjoyed having the normal check out time be a little later. Felt safe staying there.
Highly functional for a business trip

City Express Ciudad Juarez is conveniently located in one of the most important commercial areas of the city, just minutes away from main offices, shopping malls, banks and restaurants. The hotel has good amenities, with new rooms. Breakfast is included in the rate, and is better than expected. CE has a functional parking lot. WiFi is slightly deficient in some rooms, but no with no problems in the lobby and common areas. A bit expensive for this type of business hotels, however it is a good option for a business trip.
Book ahead..at another hotel!

So after my plan A,B and C hotel fell through, I ended up at City Express. They were the only hotel that had rooms available. Now we were not looking for anything luxurious, just somewhere to sleep during our visit to Juarez. I'll start with the front desk. The receptionist Cynthia never smiled or offered a greeting our entire stay there. She looked like she didn't even want to be there. I was almost uncomfortable to ask her a question because of her attitude. Maybe it's because there is only one receptionist working the front the entire time. It's ridiculous to have to wait so long to get our room key verified, which we had to do almost everyday. The only nice thing she did was book a Juarez tour for us,kind of. She was supposed to call our room to confirm our tour and never did. Didn't even leave a message downstairs that it was done. I ended up asking another receptionist to call the tour guide to confirm, she ended up making us a reservation at a different place. When I asked her if she could cancel for me, she told me I could call them myself. The room we stayed in was smaller but had everything we needed. A bed, TV, bathroom. No refrigerators in the room but there is an ice machine downstairs. The hallways to the room have very little light, it's very dark. Sometimes the hallways smell like sewer. But usually it is when they leave the lobby entrance open. Beds are average, showers have very low water pressure and tv works well. Just be careful with TV if you have kids. After 11 there is a channel that is "Adults Only"if you know what I mean. Room service does come by almost everyday but the only problem is that they start trying to clean your room at 8:30am. Even when I had the do not disturb sign on my door, they were still knocking trying to come in and clean. Breakfast is average. Eggs, beans, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit. They have a "cocktail hour" that consist of 4 bottles of soda and 3 bowls of chips. So if you don't get to one of the sodas first, you're out of luck. The gym consist of a treadmill, bike and elliptical. I stayed at the hotel for about a week and the gym never had water in the water tank. Now on a positive note, even though the hotel is very close to a busy street we never heard any noise at night. The hotel is in a good location about 7 minuets from the consulate office. They have a shuttle that will take you to your consular appointments if you need it. The parking lot is secured and they have a security guard at night. Too bad they don't have cameras in the lot. Someone hit my car and no one could help me figure out who it was because there aren't any cameras. There is an entrance from parking lot to the hotel but you need to scan your card to open the door. Which is good except the darn scaner never worked. It wasn't until my husband complained, that it was fixed. Oh I forgot, im trying to say the positive here. There is a grocery store 2 minuet walking distance from the hotel if you need any personal items or food. So if you have time to book ahead, I suggest trying another place. You will get better service for the same price you pay here. If you need something last minute, see if you can stick it out here.
