Rooms are spacious, decent bathrooms, beds, fridge, safe, TV, hairdryer etc. All this was great, even the ironing board in your room, but a few issue relating to maintenance and attention to detail lets this hotel down.
There are no HD channels on the TV. In 2017, this would be considered a basic. As a result, the picture was fuzzy and cloudy in SD.
The USB charging points next to the bed did not work, both of them.
The windows were a little loose, and didn’t look like they have been serviced or changed in several years.
Safe was locked in an open position and couldn’t be used. Spoke to Reception to fix it but this was ignored, twice.
No bathrobe; again, I asked at Reception but too was ignored.
Water pressure in the bathroom seems to increase and decrease and sounds very odd.
Light on shaving mirror broken.
Full English breakfast was very disappointing. It looked more an English breakfast in a foreign country, rather than the UK. The sausage was, I think, not pork too.
Brick Lane locality can bit a little lively at times.
On the upside, the staff were friendly, food at Marco’s restaurant was good, breakfast in bed for only a small additional charge was great, and I would stay here again.
I hope management see these points and address broken items in rooms, and any building maintenance that is needed.
I also hope the Reception staff can be a little more attentive and respond to guests requests.
I will be going back and hope to see improvements in 2018.

booked this hotel for my anniversary weekend with my girlfriend and it was a lovely stay. The hotel was clean and very comfortable, brilliantly located for food and drink, defiantly one of the best stays I've had in the city.

The hotel is very good if in the city area for business. It is very close to both Aldgate & Aldgate East. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean, there is a Marcos restaurant attached, the food here, whilst off a limited menu, was very good. The area is still old and developing, there are a couple of good pubs nearby, but I’d say that everything else modern is a tube ride or walk away, but not that far. I’d stay again on business.

We stayed for one night prior to going on our honeymoon and we were given great service and a free upgrade due to being newlyweds! Our room was large, clean and with great views. Staff were very friendly and helpful, could not have asked for more!

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I wasn't sure about the location (right on Brick Lane) - but it's on the "quiet" side of Brick Lane. A short walk to Spitalfields Market and Shoreditch. Close to nightlife and restaurants but not noisy (at least my room was nice and quiet as it faced the back of the hotel). The room was modern, large and comfortable as was the bed and the bathroom. The tube stop is 2 minutes away. If you're interested in checking out this area, then I would recommend this hotel.
