Beautiful campsite in a lovely location

We travelled as a family of six by car via the Euro tunnel. After a long drive we arrived at the site far too early to book in. However we went to the Canvas holidays lodge and found a number to ring. Within minutes Nicholas the Canvas rep was with us and took us straight on a tour of the campsite. He was so friendly and helpful. He then took us straight to our tent and allowed us to access it two hours early. He was an absolute delight. The tent was old and worn but perfectly clean and well equipped. We had everything we needed for a great stay- although I was glad we had taken an extra washing up bowl as the one provided was small and six people use a lot of dishes! The site is beautiful. Showers and toilets are spotless at all times. I'm sure the ladies must have worked around the clock. The washing up areas are very limited by again are spotless. The swimming pool is fabulous!! Included in the price it is ideal for all ages and kept our group of six amused for hours. Another great feature is the konus cards which allow free unlimited bus and train transport. We asked Nicholas one morning where he recommended and within minutes he was sat at our table with a timetable planning our trip. We loved getting out and about and used the buses and trains. The locals are really helpful as we had very limited German. Would recommend Wolfpack, Hasbach, and the beautiful Triberg. Climb the waterfall it is a gorgeous experience. For food there is no problem. In the local village of Steinach, 15 minutes walk away there is a brilliant supermarket which stocks everything you need from fresh bread to fresh meats and bottles of beer for 40 pence each. If you want a slightly cheaper alternative there is an Aldi about 10 minutes drive away. We also used a couple of Lidl's which are brilliant in Germany. The one in Triberg was great. Overall our trip was brilliant and we will definitely return. Nicholas the rep couldn't have been more friendly or helpful and the area and the campsite were fantastic. Oh I forgot to mention that there is free wifi😀
Great spot for exploring on bikes

We stayed here at the end of July / beginning of August 2017. We were in a mobile home provided by Canvas Holidays. The emplacements are not that large and we parked our car about 150m away by the campsite reception so that we could create a group dining area with friends in the caravan next door.
Our group of teenage kids loved the pool adjacent to the campsite.
Ready access to miles of well surfaced bike paths throughout the valley in addition to lots of walking trails.
You must register at reception for the Konus Card which will enable you to travel throughout the region on trains (that includes your bike).
Wi-Fi is available and is definately better near the reception. It is turned off at 10pm.
Campsite has a barrier that is dropped at 10pm - 8am then again from 1-3pm daily.
We would definately visit this area again.
family friendly, family run site with great pool

Stayed here for almost a week in August in our own tent. Campsite is family run and this does mean it is orientated towards families. There is a quiet time during the afternoon with no car access. Campsite has a mix of caravans, camper vans, static caravans, company tents and individual tents. This means is it is very busy at peak times and can feel a bit cramped. Don't expect much privacy. Our pitch was a bit worn out, but view was good (overlooking open fields). Some noise from local road, but this would vary depending on your pitch. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Shower blocks etc are generally good, but beginning to show their age here and there. Wifi coverage is about 80% of the site, the main hotspots shown by clusters of teenagers on their phones at strategic points. Night and day...
Restaurant was fine for a campsite restaurant and shop is basic but sells essentials (including bread and milk). Local pool (free access) is superb - you will have trouble getting kids out of it to go anywhere. You also get a free Konos Card with your reservation which allows free train and bus travel throughout Black Forest which is a major cost saving itself. Local train station is 10 minutes from campsite just beyond the pool.
Overall, a good base. Busy, but friendly.
Lovely week in the Black Forest

This was our first time in the Black Forest and the campsite was a great base to explore the region.
We stayed in our VW camper van and our pitch was alongside the stream facing into it. Initially it felt a bit cramped and not the open spaces were were used to, but after a few days we realised it as nice and peaceful and with evening shade.
The wash block was always clean and we made use of the shop for fresh bread. Though we also cycled into the village and used the bakers on the main road (next to the bank) which did amazing cakes! The shop has a selection of cold beers, which was useful on the hot days!
The kids loved the swimming pool next door, and made ample use of the free pass. We used the free public transport pass most days as we didn't want to unhook the camper van. We took the local train around the area to Haslach, the open air museum, Triberg Falls etc. We also did a day trip to Frieberg. Having the train pass was really useful.
Prices were reasonable too.
Two days in the Black Forest

We stayed in the Black Forest for two days and booked a 4 berth family van with decking - and were quite disappointed with the location as our van was at the back facing a car park and the back of the tennis club. The van was tiny.
On the plus side we had free parking, free use of the local pool - which was amazing and very clean - and the Black Forest has amazing scenery.
Communal showers were pretty good and certainly much bigger than the tiny one we had in the van.
