I've made a booking via internet booking service. Unfortunately when we have arrived it turned out that we were located in other room then offered . Also we were informed that we have to pay extra fot a baby cot because it was already in use and required renting from external company, while we have arrived with our 7month baby and double asked before arrival... After a short argue, they gave us the bed for free which turned out to be somehow available, but informed that our room in that price won't be cleaned during our stay. The room was moist, smelly, coating molded, no tv as offered, no wifi as offered on the internet, and 9900000 red ants walking on the floor and walls. Of course after our complain we were told that "this is Mediterranean, we are close to nature, we should eat avocado every day" the guy also said that now his wife is old and sick but before she would kick complaining guests like us out of their hotel. Next day we decided to pay 20euros more for a night for a better room, yet this better room was presented in the offer while booking. Room was much better, yet also moist, smelly like a sewer, but with tv, weak wifi signal and no ants. I wouldn't recommend it in summer, no ac and only one garden window to the west—it gets hot just on time when you come back right after a city break...After upgrading the room owners became much more polite to us. Their price for beeing polite is 20euros/day...
I would expect a different treatment in cote d azur. Shame.

If you are considering a cycling holiday in the Nice area which sits at the foot of the Maritime alps then look no further than the Clair hotel. Great 2 * accommodation with the added benefit of kitchen facilities. The owners are superb hosts who are used to dealing with cyclists and their bike boxes! Nothing was too much trouble and it will make returning a pleasure. Incidentally the cycling once you've mastered the routes in and put of Nice is just fantastic.

An excellent little Hotel near Port Lympia which, though basic, has everything we required and was perfectly located for getting out of Nice to explore the surrounding area by bike.
A stones throw from the Prom des Anglais and Nice old town with an intermarche within 250m to stock up the kitchenette.
Esther and Luba were the perfect hosts. I would 100% recommend and will most likely return before the year is out.

We really enjoyed our stay here and will hopefully return again. It is up hill but once you have checked in you are given a key for the back door which is more accessible from the town. Rooms are clean and spacious. Family run and friendly

The owners were more than exceptional, making you feel like family as soon as you arrive. The rooms were basic, but clean and charming with a French feel. The courtyard was very peaceful and relaxing after a busy day in Nice and surroundings. Walked everywhere; town 5 minutes, supermarket 1 block, and owners gave great advice on local restaurants, sights, markets, and bakeries. They even helped direct us to our next stop. Thanks Clair Hotel for a wonderful stay in Nice!
