What People are saying

Run down, a bit rough, but under renovation. Better times ahead?

DenMarksteron 29/10/2017 23:05

We had a group for an event moved here after there was overbooking at another hotel. About a third of the rooms are renovated-ours were not. It has carpet well past its prime in rooms and halls (stained, worn out, and stinky in places), beds that are beyond their useful life, and generally worn out wallpaper, fixtures, etc. Breakfast is what you might expect - waffle machines, bagles, pastries, generally two hot things (biscuits gravy one day, eggs another), fruit, coffee, tea. Pool seems to be cleaned up with renovation.

Most front desk staff are friendly, just one or two a little less so.

Most UNCOMFORTABLE beds (Were they even beds?) ever!

michaelnF8246NNon 26/10/2017 15:38

This place has the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE beds I have EVER slept on (tried to sleep anyway) in my entire life. And, yes, they were even worse than fold-up COTS I slept on in the service years ago. Blow-up mattresses would have been more comfortable. Horrible beds! Also, while they advertised 'two QUEEN beds', these beds were NOT Queen sized. Upon checking out, the receptionist asked me how my stay was? I told her that the beds were terrible, and NOT Queen sized. She replied - "Oh, they will be when we complete renovations IN A COUPLE OF MORE MONTHS". I RESERVED two Queen beds. I asked, upon checking into hotel, for two Queen beds. I was CHARGED for two Queen beds! What I received were NOT Queen sized, and were debatable at to if they should even be titled BEDS! Webster's defines a bed as "a mattress filled with soft material". NOT THESE! Why are hotels/motels like these that FALSE advertise what they are actually providing to guests allowed to continue to (FALSE) advertise?

Work in Progress. Attentive staff.

Stayed one night. Staff was great. I called prior to arriving, asking about some of the reviews. The person I spoke with shared they've had past concerns, but the renovation was going well and new rooms were really nice. I went with it.
I was in one of the newly renovated rooms. It was fine. Nice, even. Positives: Bed was comfortable, lighting subtle (I would have liked a little more - thought it was insufficient). The TV was the size of Texas! Nice toiletries. Breakfast was nice. Good options, nice setup, attentive staff. Down side - the one window in the room had a cheap plastic mini-blind, no secondary closure such as a curtain or shade. Not only did it do a poor job at covering the window, a HUGE BRIGHT light off the road beamed right into the room - right through it. I tried hanging a towel - no luck. It was a damper on the stay with the awful bright light beaming in the room. Also, one had to walk through the crappy old hall to get to the newer rooms. I think I temporary carpet cover could be put down to cover it's awful appearance - but none was there. I think the hotel is on it's way back - it'd be in their favor to pick up the pace! Consider adding some 2Q rooms in the renovation area.

Nothing about the place make you feel happy about being there

Upon arrival, entering the hallway into the lobby, the windows were horrible, handprints and smudges all over the place! The room we were given was non smoking, on the second floor, we were in 213, the hallway up there smelled like a dirty ashtray! The room was exactly the same as hallway, smelled like smoke, and the air condition could not perform at all! We did mention this to the desk, and the gal said a few people complained about the same thing! I was happy to say we only had to stay one night, at which I did not sleep much between the air and the smell!!!

needs a lot of work, but the staff were great

night one, AC packed up so moved to another room, AC worked but WiFi so bad had to use data on phone, light did not work, took 4 attempts to get key card that actually worked for room. Shame as well located, sure will be better when work completed.
