We have stayed at this hotel many many times, so I guess we really should do a review. The only reason we haven't so far is because we don't want everyone going there, and us trying to book only to be told that we can't have our regular room because it's booked out.
Nothing like checking in, going up to our room and enjoying the view over the Yarra and the Crown fire towers - and no I'm not telling you what room it is. I want to keep it to myself. Welcomed with complimentary drinks and a sweet surprise (a rather tasty cookie), we go out to enjoy our evening and then return to relax on the lounge before retreating to a comfortable bed - always a good night's sleep.
Staff are helpful and polite, room service very good and housekeeping do a great job.
I must mention that I am a member of the One Williams Club and on every visit enjoy complimentary drinks, discounts on room rate / food and parking. We stayed at the Clarion Saturday night and upon check in I was greeted by a very new member of staff. Sadly he was not nearly up to par (we have encountered a few staff members in the past who were simply not ready to service customers). He did not recognise that I was a member (not taught how to read the booking screen properly?) so I had to ask for my complimentary drink cards and he failed to provide the discount food offer for the restaurant. He not only tried to charge me over $700 for my room, he also wanted to charge me a $25 credit card authorisation (something to do with new customers) which I have never come across there even on the first visit! I can only hope that The Clarion management team enhance their training procedures, as presenting new staff members to the public too early is not fair to the staff member in question OR the customer.
The only other issue for the night was that we got to our room there was not a cookie in sight... NOT A SINGLE COOKIE!!! I say that in jest of course as it wasn't exactly a problem (mind you I still want my cookie lol).

This accommodation is fine. Clean and tidy. A bit dated in decor. Bed comfy with nice white sheets. The position is perfect in Melbourne. Staff helpful but at times under staffed. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here for six nights. The room had great views and great managers but unfortunately, there are some issues that prevent a higher rating. First and most important - this is a hotel that seems to cater to longer stays yet the layout and style of the rooms doesn't make any sense. There are only two small drawers in the entire suite and two small closets in the bedroom so if you want a place to put clothes, good luck. My husband ended up just living out of his suitcase. The kitchen is huge and there is a good sized table for eating so that takes away from space in the bedroom which is very cramped. The door to the closet opens into the bed - literally. You cannot open the closet door all the way, We could hear our neighbors through the walls - and they were not screaming, just talking. The bathroom is also poorly laid out. No counter space. and one of those 1/2 door European showers where water will get all over the floor. Front desk staff was nice but not great when it came to recommendations for meals - they kept sending us across the river to a stretch of eateries. We ended up finding fantastic restaurants on-line. Finally, hotel location seemed to be a little out of the way but not sure if we had gone elsewhere if we would have had the same views. Probably would trade that in hindsight.

Thank you for making my couple of days in Melbourne so enjoyable. My room was lovely with a great view of the river....with a very comfy king bed...breakfast was delicious each morning and the glass of wine was a perfect end to shopping...

We stayed 4 nights. The appartments have a bit an 80s charme but are super clean and have everything you need including very fast wifi. The guys at the reception have been very helpful. Location is great!
