Muggendorf is a nice place for outdoor activities. This hotel, run by a family is a great place for short stays and boarding. Food is excellent though the choice of vegetarian fare is limited. However, they go out of their way to make their guests comfortable. There is no elevator. So, be prepared to take the stairs if your rooms happen to be on Level 2.

This is my third stay at the Hotel Feiler and the food and service never disappoints. Mr Feiler is a famous chef in Germany and his food is worthy of a few Michelin stars. From wild venison with chanterelle mushrooms to home made truffle tagliatelle, scrumptious desserts and a dreamy wine list! If you are ever in the Black Forest region you must make the trip to Muggendorf, you won't be disappointed.

Hia all, the owner of the place, Klaus Feiler, is a renowned cook in Germany and his son and employes are following suit. His wife Christina is in charge of the service.
The house is very old, some 400 years, so the whole technicalities in the rooms are good, but not great. This doesn't really matter, after Klaus' meals and the excellent selection of wines and spirits you won't notice it anyhow :)
The house is situated in 'Franconian Switzerland' do around there are excellent hiking, cycling and canoeing possibilities. The hiking is good for recreational activities, for the biking and canoeing you have to be seriously fit and have to know your ways around
