Decent enough, particularly the service and ambience

First impressions were very good, nice facade, lovely log fire in bar area.
The bloke serving was great, very personable.
Most of the food was very good, though I ordered a chicken burger and got beef. I wasn't going to complain because I like both and didn't want to wait longer to eat.
Some of the veg with the other meal was overdone.
All in all, good value and would visit again, but some room for improvement.
Unique Place serving Great food

Called in here many times during our stay at nearby Rockcliffe. Instead of using the car we walked through the many wooded paths eventually after only 30 mins or so arriving at the Clonyard. So we were ready for our food and the Clonyard offers a very good selection of Starters, Mains, Sandwiches & Sweets.
Would recommend :-
Starters- Soup, Peppered Mushrooms, Pate, Haggis & Tattie Stack
Mains :- Gammon , Crispy Pork , Sweet & Sour Chicken , Kashmiri Chicken Curry
Sandwich :- Haggis & Onion Panini
Sweet :- many to choose from but go for the Fudge Nut Sundae - irresistable
Many more dishes that we did not have the time to try.
Very friendly Service.
Amazing value.
and dogs are allowed in many parts of Bar Area
Well worth a visit if you are in the Area

Enjoyed a family dinner in the bar. Very cosy relaxed enjoyable athmosphere. Kids menu was healthy not the usual chicken nuggets and chips. Really want to return and try the fusion tea experience as the set up look great and very elegant.
Very good value

Chose the hotel because advertised as pet friendly which indeed was so without surcharge. Décor and furnishings a little tired but very spacious accommodation with generous sitting area with sofa. Excellent value for money
Nice food..but tired everywhere else!

We checked in on a Saturday afternoon, the lady on the bar came out and gave us the key, she didn't mention breakfast or meals in the bar or restaurant which was odd but she was rushing to get back to the bar. We ordered food, some of which they had ran out of, our server was a wee cute boy the food was nice but basic. Service was a tad slow but the same lady was on her own. Our room (No 5) was ok, dusty, cobwebs and slightly unloved. The shower was broken and temperamental and took ages to get the right temperature. The beds weren't very comfy and creaked loudly every time you turned over. There was a nice little patio area with a door which would have been nice to use if the furniture didn't look like it belonged in a trailer park and the ground wasn't covered in cigarette butts.
We arrived to breakfast and the same lady was running around, we were sat down and then just left, no one came to take our order, I had to wave down a waitress to place our order.
We weren't asked how our stay was or anything at check out. All in all it wasn't worth the £80 per night. The exit to the road is dangerous if turning right, a mirror is needed on the far wall to see around the blind corner.
The area and hotel building is lovely but the care and attention it needs is lacking and the main staff member overworked. We wouldn't return or recommend!
