We've been staying here for a few days and run as quick as we found another place to stay in Bentota, but planed to stay 2 weeks. ROOM IS TERRIBLE: small and dirty. Buffet is very weak. But the worst in this hotel is a staff! ALL OF THEM are COMPLETELY STUPID! Believe me , I spend a few years in Africa, I know what kind of service can be in Mali and Guinea/Conakry , but this is something UNbelivable! Admins are cheaters, who don't care about you, they are interesting only to withdraw your cash, as much as possible. Don't ask them anything ! Ask the Guy Anil, who driving bus on a bus-taxi stop, he's reliable. Anyway most of baggage man there are more clever than this concierges and admins in Bentota Club Hotel. You can find a lot of good hotels not far from Bentota Club with the same or less rate.
Please plan your trip attentively!

The hotel is a charming boat ride across the bay to access through a beautiful reception. There is heavy use of timber and wood in their decor. It carries an old world charm and beauty. They have wide access to sea and the backwater (where you can enjoy water sports).
There is a pool, snooker room and badminton court available in the hotel. The tennis courts were in need of some maintenance. I quite liked the vibe of this hotel. You frequently come across fresh water monitors on the property. Ideal for organising large corporate events outdoors or beach picnics and weddings.

Went to this place in the month of January 2017. This is surely a heaven on earth. To reach the hotel we have to cross a river by their private boats. The resort is located between a river on one side and the ocean on the other. They have a direct access to the beach and you will hear the waves roaring throughout your stay. The breakfast spread is above average and vast. The live seafood counter is good. The restaurant is big and well equipped. Food is costly. The rooms are very good with verandahs that open up to the ocean. Overall a very beautiful resort. Would love to visit this place, again and again.

Had such a super 3 days at Club Bentota, you can drive directly from Colombo airport, it's about 2 hour drive roughly. No point staying at Colombo, it's crowded, expensive and a city life, there nothing there for a tourist.
Club Bentota is a perfect getaway even from India. Peaceful, good food, beer, super water sports, we did each ride and thoroughly enjoyed it, very reasonably priced too.
Nice romantic beach attached to the property. I've travelled to most countries, this is my favourite resort. A small tip, pre book all massages they are soooo good.
Try if you can book a chalet or cottage near the Ayurvedic massage hut, I personally liked those cottages much better than the rooms but they weren't offered on booking sites, only direct. Sheer bliss this place.

If you want to feel a paradise on a heaven then you definitely should visit Club Bentota paradise island in Sri Lanka.
Well we spend a day as a corporate outing in this place. It was amazing surrounding and you can enjoy delicious foods and lots of things to do while spending a quality day...
