Never actually got the chance to stay at the resort. My rating reflects problems we had with booking.
My friend booked 2 rooms through Hotwire.com weeks before our stay. We received confirmation emails for our booking date. On our date of travel, his family (he, his wife and a 1 year old) travelled separately from me and my family (myself, my morning-sickness-pregnant wife and our 2 year old) as we were coming from different towns, each 2 hours away. On the drive in he decided to call the Embarc just to see if we could check in at 3pm instead of 4pm. They told him that they had no reservation for him and that they were fully booked. He called Hotwire.com and spent an hour on the phone with someone who finally said they would call the Embarc to see if they could figure out what happened. After another hour we called back and they said that the Embarc could accommodate us. Cool! When we arrived they said, no we're booked, we found you another room somewhere else (not 2 rooms, mind you, 1 room). They sent us to the Palm Canyon Resort, a 27 minute drive back the other way. Not cool. With very young children and hot car rides, this was not the answer we wanted. The Palm Canyon Resort was OKAY, but definitely not up to the same level of quality we were expecting at the Embarc and not commensurate accommodations.
Embarc really should make some adjustments to the way they work with Hotwire.com because this was unacceptable.
The place looked really nice though and I'd still like to come stay there one day. But it would take some incentive to do so.
I rated Poor instead of Terrible because they did reimburse our money 100%.

As with any Embarc property, this one does not disappoint.
From the moment you walk into the beautiful reception area the staff are beyond perfect at what they do. We had a special request to add a room to our booking as we had a guest decide to join us last minute and the manager (Amy? I think!) made us feel like it was no problem at all, gave us the adjoining room to our suite and then when we saw her later at the pool she remember our specific reservation details and followed up with us to make sure everything was still going great.
The rooms are beautiful, and we were lucky enough to back into the adult only pool which made our stay even more relaxing.
All embarc properties are excellent but the staff really make the experience better than any other hotel.

This trip was our 8th visit, starting with 2 weeks and now a month. We enjoy shelter from the rain and cold at home and retreat to Embarc. The units are clean comfortable and quiet. We stay on the adult side by the adult pools, BBQ on handy immaculate grills just steps away. The staff are gracious, courteous and also invisible. Helpful making reservations for dinner, giving directions or staying out of the way. Wifi, TV, tennis, swimming or just sitting on a padded chaise enjoying the quiet side or life.

So quiet and peaceful. Staff was so friendly. Right on a golf course. Great outdoor patio to sit and feels so private with your own firepit. Quiet pools and a real desert feel. 100% happy with decision to stay here. Only complaint - pillows were not good at all.

We have stayed at Time Shares many times in the Desert. First time here at the Embarc and we will be back.
Our unit was a 2 bedroom 2 bath on the ground floor. We requested an updated unit with the new addition of a Jenn-air stove with oven and larger island for dining while the outside table was in the hot sun at dinner time. Our request was granted. The unit was very nice sized with quiet air conditioning thru out. Each building consists of three two bedroom units on the ground floor and three one bedroom units upstairs. Every building has a self serve laundry room with new appliances.
There is a group of buildings in the adult section with quiet pool areas and views of the golf course.
Also, a group of buildings surround the family pool area.
The grounds are amazing, very mature with beautiful plants that are some of the largest we have ever seen.
The staff from check-in to check-out were fantastic.
