Later summer holiday with kids: excellent

The holiday was fantastic. It was the last week the resort were open to public so less crowded, but weather still warm and enjoyable. The place is perfect for children of any age: for small ones there is a nursery (open 9-23), toys at the beach, bazaar with toys and baby toiletries, pushchair rental services, high chair at the dining tables. For toddler and older ones: there is a group running every day from 09:30-23 and lots of activities organised during the day. Also plenty or sports and activities for grown ups (adult included). Some external trips and special activities on the sea (scuba, sailing to islands etc) are available at additional cost. Food, services and cleanliness are superb. Transfer from and to airport can be arranged (extra cost). Some of the staff speaks English.
Overall, I had an excellent experience and the kids just loved it!
a great holiday place for families with kids, a bit overcrowded but the beach is wonderful

the beach is worth the money and the trip, just very nice. Even if we were there in August (for the third time over many years), the place was overcrowded with more than 1000 guests.
the village, the beach, the parking, all personnel and animation are excellent.
what I did not like is this new Privilege card that you must buy to get first line place at the beach and reserve tables at the restaurant (nobody told us of this when we booked and when we reached The village there were no places available for the special card, which is not cheap at 300 euros/week/room).
The food is quite good for the quantities they must produce, a lot of fish and vegetables, as well as meat. Personally I missed spaghetti, only had them twice in a week.
the quality of the food is good but the restaurant very crowded and confusing.
A Club of this size would deserve a second restaurant, maybe with evening seated service.
Italian excellence

I'm not a resort kind of tourist so please understand that my review is extremely honest. This is one of the place you have to visit if you are planning a holiday in Sardinia with family. Everything is perfectly organized and in line with the quality you expect from a vacation in Sardinia. Let's start with the the strongest point: every single person working in the resort is not a seasonal worker but an extremely skilled professional, starting from drivers of the caddy till the resort director with a great focus on the animation. Entertainment manager, sport activity manager, and all others are multi skilled performers working 20 hours a day in order to make the guests experience fantastic.
The shows and the live performances are a piece of art thanks to the art director which is also the resort manager.
The food buffet change every day and covers every taste with a very good variety of choices all fresh made. The beach is nice, maybe a bit crowd but ok.
The rooms are ok, showers might need a refresh but believe me it does not effect your vacation.
Two notes: there is no room service and I don't understand why.. And the in room bar is empty. Again no tragedy but why?
The baby club is just fantastic and very well organized, covering all range of age from 0 to 17 years old. Really thanks to the girls and guy working in the baby club.
I strongly recommend this resort, mainly for families but not only.
Fabulous beach and food

We stayed at the IGV Club Santagiusta in September of 2oo9 so this is a late review. We wanted to try Sardinia as our local airport in Germany Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden had introduced flights. My husband looked on-line and with the help of an Italian speaking friend booked this resort.
It was a very interesting experience for us at it was entirely Italian owned and run and as far as we could tell we were the only English speaking guests at the resort. Since visiting we have done some research and I believe the layout and design to be fairly typical of what Italians look for in a beach resort. It consisted of low-rise two story houses or villas with four rooms in each. The sound-proofing was very good as we hardly ever heard any of our neighbours. They overlook spacious grounds with green grass and many flowering trees and plants, each room either has a patio or balcony with a rattan table and chairs. The villas are along pathways that lead to the center of the resort which has the reception, restaurant, swimming pool, kids club, pool side bar/coffee bar and a handfull of shops.
The resort is nicely laid out with a couple of pathways leading down to the fabulous beach 2-3 minutes walk from the center of the resort. You cannot see the resort from the beach because of it's sympathetic design. The beach itself is wonderful, white, soft sand and crystal blue water. As nice as the pool was it was almost always deserted because the beach was incredible and so accessible. There were plenty of umbrellas with sun loungers and we always found space even though the resort seemed to be full. There was a beachside bar selling drinks, snacks and icecream.
Other than the beach the other big plus for this resort was the food which was very, very good. This was the first time we had booked full-board at a resort and we were glad we did. There was always a huge buffet-style selection at every meal, fresh, local and delicious. The restaurant was in a quad shape with a central outside courtyard where the cooks prepared fresh eggs, fish and meats. The restaurant was very comfortable, open and sunny. In the daytime it was lovely to sit in the sun and look out at the blue sky. In the evening the Italians made a real event of the evening meal. The guests were all extremely well turned out and made every effort with their appearance sitting at the round tables with friends and family. Dinner was very relaxed but had that Italian ceremony about it. We really enjoyed being part of it.
We certainly had a great time and our three children loved in. I am only giving three out of five because I think the resort in parts is getting dated. The kids club, although manned by wonderful staff, was in buildings that looked like they needed an update. The kids playground was definitely jaded and there was a strange large overgrown area towards the beach that looked like it was supposed to be something, another pool? A tennis court? Who knows? The sports facilities were also down on their luck and somewhat uncared for. The service was perfectly good, understandably few if any staff spoke English as we were not their target customer. Also there is very little else in the area except other beach resorts. You would need to hire a car if you wanted to get to other towns, which we did. However if you want a relaxing holiday with wonderful food and a great beach and if you get a vacation here at the right price I think you would be very happy. Also of course the Italians loved the children and they could do no wrong. We just enjoyed the fact that our priorities: beach, food and family friendly were obvious priorities for the Italians too.
Oh the evening entertainment doesn't start until at least 9pm and lasts until midnight. All the Italian kids were up, even the toddlers as I think they all took a siesta before dinner. The entertainment was the "Animation" entertainers who worked with the kids and wasn't up to much. Most of the Italians enjoyed sitting out at the bar hanging out with a coffee and friends. If you want peace and quiet in the evening ask for a room away from the entertainment amphitheatre which ours was.
So a 5 star beach 4 star food and 3 star accommodation.
This year we have booked another Italian beach resort in Sardinia but one with a more international clientele as we enjoyed the experience so much.

As this is an Italian family resort, we went there with Italian friends for two weeks between 13th and 27th September 2008. The staff speak broken English but they are very friendly to english speakers.
The resort is full board, rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom is seperated from the bedroom with to door small room, it is very clean but hairdryer is awfull.
The food is very local, great, tasty and plenty. Millions of type of chese we tried. Without doubt ther is grilled fish seabass and seabream every lunch and dinner. It is a pitty we had grilled tiger prawns only one night. Restaurant is better than a 5 star sea food restaurant. No need to go to the restaurant early ther is plenty of place to sit.
The beach is great, sandy, warm, well equipped. Easy to acces through mediterranean plants on a wooden polatform.
The resort really shines with baby/child facilities. Everything is available for babies 24 hours. You can even borrw a buggy by paying 80 euro deposit. You can drop your child off for a few hours at a time, enjoy the beach or dinner and then pick them up. Staff are very well trained, love their job and they really show.
The only down side of the hotel was the pediatrician. Even though he should be available every day (free), he was not in the hotel one day before we left the hotel. My daughter had a fever of 39.5 deg and without doctor we tried to reduce the fever. Hopefully, nothing happened. Again, no doctor speaks english.
Once it rained a lot and telephones were out of order. We asked several times but no one fixed it.
The resort is 90 minutes from Cagliari airport by car/bus that would easily be arranged by staff. There is also a car rent facility within the hotel but you should book the car one night before you intend to go out as tehre is limited number of cars available.
As a result, i would recommend this hotel to everyone who would like to have a pleasant holiday but don't go there for the last two weeks of the season as we unfortunately did.
