The resort is in simple words perfect, the location, view, the sunset everything is perfect. The entry to the resort is via a canal and a boat ride gets you to the resort.
The staff is very friendly and do their best to make you comfortable.
The one star the resort looses in this review is due to the bad quality of food, the food at times tasted stale, the breakfast was average in terms of the spread, so was the dinner buffet. It's best to avoid food at the resort restaurant, but that would mean hopping onto the boat and going to the car park after a canal ride and then driving out for a meal.
Other than this, the place is perfect for a romantic getaway, kids may get bored here as this is a place where you relax and leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind.

Arrived here after 17 hour transfer from UK and was somewhat frazzled!
Arriving by boat and being met by such friendly staff was a lovely start to our visit. Its quite small with about 20 wooden bungalows arranged around a west facing pool from which you can watch the fabulous sun set. The bungalows are not luxurious but are spacious and contain all you need including AC andvit alk worked well. The food is authentic Keralan and was excellent served by lovely attentive staff. Its a great spot frim which to tour the lake and local waterways and we spotted lots of kingfishers and others species all around. Lots of mozzies too so dont forget to spray before setting out. We had 4 delightful nights here before moving on to Munnar.

''Primarily it looks like a beach resort but its on bank of lake .Excellent location ,picturesque views , rooms are good n other facility also . They don't have buffet lunch n Dinner .Food is average .The intention of service is good but staff have problem of language ,they must understand hindi or english .
Overall its value for money ''

I would like to pen few positive and negative points about Cocobay resort Kumarakam. Hope the management will improve their facilities, first of all about the Parking place of our vehicle, which is away from the resort, the staff are unfriendly nature totally local people, from the parking place , we have to go by boat about 7 minutes, the location of the resort is marvelous and panoramic back water view, rooms are very good but very bad food which is below average, the staff are friendly but not professional approach, the manager is very good and friendly, but the terrible thing happened is while we are return back at the parking area we parked our Innova car under the tree, our car was full of dirt and birds dropping covered we cannot move the car without washing, we request the staff to provide us the bucket and mug and cloth but they totally refuse to provide us anything and they turn back to their office. It was a bad experience in our trip.

Excellent food. South indian as well as north indian cuisine , both ate very well prepared . Staff is very friendly. Good view of lake. Rooms are comfortable. We can directly go for boat ride .canal ride is better than lake ride. swimming pool was nice. Property is small but very well maintained.
