Will stay again!
Matt Von 15/09/2017 22:05Spent two lovely nights here, and had a really enjoyable experience.
The hotel is quite beautifully designed, with interesting interior, and very nice rooms (lots of space, great mod cons) unlike many euro hotels.
The spa is excellent, and the hot tub is hotter than most (why are Europeans against hot-hot tubs?).
The half board dinner was simply excellent. The range of choices is of course somewhat limited, but everything we had was delicious, as well as beautifully plated.
Parking is more than adequate, and the staff were friendly and efficient.
When we are next in Corvara, we will definitely stay here again.
Delightful in Winter and Summer
sprouleloveon 11/09/2017 19:30I've now stayed at Col Alto in Winter and Summer, in very different phases of my life. 10 years ago I came here for some cross-country skiing with friends and really enjoyed it. Just this month I came back with my wife and two kids for the hiking, food and spa. Col Alto has really upped their game in the intervening years - this is a family business and the younger generation has taken over, renovated the place with a beautiful modern aesthetic and improved the food (some of the best we had on a trip that also took us to Rome and Milan) without losing the incredibly warm service. Somehow the staff feels like part of the family, which to me is far more preferable than the cloying service at many luxury hotels.
Out of the blue we were upgraded to what the clerk described as the largest suite in the place complete with a huge terrace putting the dramatic Dolomites in our laps. By luck of the draw, Col Alto is a bit close to the main road (perhaps the price to pay for being steps from stunning hiking trails up the eponymous mountain right behind the hotel), but they've worked around this by tunneling under it (!) to join the main lobby to another building which houses a very clean spa with about a dozen amazing options (salt sauna and a unique barefoot pebble walking path I had never seen before among them). We couldn't drag the kids out of the game room down the hall.
I can't say enough good things about this place...we'll be back.
Wonderful hotel
lgm165on 07/09/2017 12:18I recently stayed here as part of a group. The hotel is extremely well run, with very clean and comfortable rooms. The restaurant is fantastic with a large range of food to suit all dietary requirements. The lounge is very comfortable and a great place for pre dinner drinks. The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
Wonderful hotel, great food and facilities
sfresidenton 21/08/2017 03:43Stayed here for two nights in mid-August. Lovely hotel, great "aqua-wellness" facility, fantastic food. Wonderful lounge with live music in the evenings. Nice to have modern decor after 10 days of "rustic alpine" decor at other hotels in the Dolomites.
Summer walking holiday

Access to local ski lifts and cable cars v good making for a huge choice of walks and hikes without needing to use much other transport - local buses good value too if needed.
