My mom and I decided to take a girls trip before thanksgiving and decided on the Colony Hotel as we have never been to Palm Beach and read the great reviews. I’m very confused on where all be great reviews are coming from.. the staff barely greet you walking in the front door, they overcharge you for everything, and the staff at the pool do not check up on you and you have to go find them in order to order drinks/ food. There’s also a $200 dog charge that is not communicated until the day you show up. For the amount of money I️t costs to stay here, the service should be impeccable. We will not be back.

The valet is the first staff you'll see, they are very prompt, and insightful about the area. The front desk is the friendliest I've encountered, and I even got champagne at check in. The rooms offer free netflix, mine was not signed in so the front desk had to send security up to sign it in. Security was at the room within 5 min to sign us in, and had a bucket of ice sent to the room when I asked where the ice machine was located. I ordered room service, the food came fast, and it was a really good meal. The bar staff in the Polo lounge and by the pool are awesome as well. If you want a cheap quick bite, stop by the cafeteria. The rooms are very nice, comfortable beds, and nice bathrooms. The one and only complaint would be the wifi did not work well where my room was located. I only received about -79dB on 2.4GHz, which is basically the cutoff point where wireless fails on 2.4GHz. They used Aerohive AP's which have dual band antennas, but 5GHz was obviously not an option in my room since the 2.4GHz didn't have the proper signal strength. WiFi worked well in other parts of the hotel such as the Polo lounge.
The location is fantastic and a block from the ocean. The hotel offers free umbrellas, towels, and chairs at the valet. The surrounding area has good options for restaurants within walking distance. Expect to pay at least $30 or more per person at the surrounding restaurants (No fast food here). Most restaurants seemed to close at 9-10PM in the area even on a Friday or Saturday. If you're more of a late night person, the onsite bars close around 12 (crowd dependent). You can purchase beer/wine at a Publix (open until about 10pm in the area), a gas station, or you can purchase liquor, beer, wine at some liquor stores open until about 2am closer to PBI (Stop on your way in).
Overall, the staff is the best part! Great location and only a block from the beach. There's expensive shopping a few blocks away, but if you do that, you went the opposite direction of the beach! If you are here, go to the beach!

We enjoyed our stay and found the staff friendly (especially pool bar) but reservations and billings process sadly puts us off returning. Booking our stay was a disaster which has been topped off by being overcharged and nobody has taken the time to resolve - I’d apprecaite a response!

We loved staying at The Colony. Wonderful location for walking to shops and fantastic restaurants. Motown Night in Friday’s should not be missed - great group. Room was small but beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Great old Florida style with modern amenities. Staff were superb throughout. We loved our stay here and will be back!

The Colony has it all. The feel of a small boutique hotel, with warm and welcoming staff, great amenities -- restaurant, live music and a pool. We visited the Breakers one night and were so happy to return to the quiet and charm of the Colony. It felt like our home away from home only better.
