Was very disappointed with this hotel. Though the staff were very nice and helpful since I speak French it was easy to communicate but the rooms are very extremely small we were 2 people and barely been able to move around the room and shower is the worst I have ever seen extremely small you cant turn around, beds are not comfortable , it is way overpriced, the front doors are close at midnight so you have to come back before the close, the only good thing about it is that it is 1 min away from train station but at the same time it is bad cause you can't sleep from the noise

Location Convenient to Trains, But...

True--this hotel is right by a train station and one can be at Gare St. Lazare in 15 minutes. False--staff speak English. Only one front-desk person speaks fluent English and she works until 12 noon five days a week. The rest of the time, best of luck trying to communicate. True--there is lift, but it stops between floors, so you have to carry luggage either up or down stairs, which I did not appreciate. False--there are restaurants near by. Well, there are, but they are not open very often. The best resource for food is a supermarket in the next block and the vegetable store across the street. True--the rooms are very small and very noisy. And one other thing, they do not have locks from the inside, so any staff member can open your room at any time; that was not fun. True/False--WIFI, yes they have it, but you have to ask for the login and password each day and it is slow and unreliable. Don't plan to use it to do much more than check train schedules. True--it is quite clean, considering how old it is. The best things about my room were the firm mattress and the deep bathtub. I agree with a previous reviewer--stay here at your own risk.
Be cautious

Unless you speak French stay away from this hotel. None of the staff knew enough English to be helpful. The only reason we managed is because I'm French fluent.
Breakfast is overpriced so it's worth waiting until you can hit a bakery or cafe.
Rooms were ok. Our shower water constantly went over our shower doors because they are not tall enough. The wifi is one device per code and codes have to be renewed every 24 hours.
It's convenient location unranks its features.

The Comfort Hotel au Firmament, in Asnieres-sur-Seine - is actually very conveniently located near to Paris' tourist district. The local train station is less than minute away, and with at least 5 trains running per hour, at all hours of the day, you can be at Saint.Lazare train station in under 20 minutes. From there you can transfer to multiple subway lines - so that in about 5 more stops you can be at the majority of the Paris's west side attractions, or any of the national rail stations. A second transfer will get to you the airport or to the castle of Versailles.
The rooms are adequate (big enough to swing a cat which, if you've stayed in downtown Paris on a budget, you'll realize is a big space) - no bath - no stand for your suitcase, and flimsy curtains - which is problematic because the windows face that building across the street, 12 of which faced directly into my room. Unlike many of Paris' hotels, the bed was actually double, not two singles pushed together. The front desk staff lack the customary exuberance of French hosts and one of them smokes in the lobby over the weekend night shift. Be prepared to lug your luggage up a 1/2 flight of stairs because, being retrofitted into an old building the elevator stops between floors. Breakfast is not worth having - it is barely nutritious, not appealing, over priced, and served in a bleak unParis-like atmosphere.
"Marmite" hotel - you'll love it or hate it

You'll either love or hate this hotel.
The two members of staff I met were friendly. The receptionist in the afternoon when I checked in spoke good English. The gentleman on the desk late in the evening didn't speak English but was very pleasant and friendly.
Location:
It is in a residential area which is being developed - both commercial office blocks & residential apartments are currently under construction a few minutes walk away. There is a supermarket around the corner, a fruit & veg shop opposite and a patisserie and couple of restaurants less than 50 metres away.
If you are on business, the hotel is right across the road from Becon les Bruyeres Station from where you can easily get to La Defence; if you are a tourist it's not in the centre of things so you'd need to get the train into Haussemann Saint-Lazare (5 mins fast train; 15 mins slow train) and get connections from there to tourist sights.
Décor:
1960's/70's fully tiled bathroom in an unusual choice of colour scheme; greens, oranges, black & white with a lilac bathroom suite. Internal doors have multi-coloured plastic panels.
Comfort:
The bed was ok, not too soft and not too hard. It is a beautiful old building so I didn't expect modern clinical cleanliness but the décor was very dated and the bathroom wasn't as clean as it could have been. The room was very hot due to the hot water pipes - I had to sleep with the window open. As is common with Paris hotels , there is no sound-proofing , so I could hear everything happening in the room next to me, fortunately the gentleman was very thoughtful and I managed to get to sleep ok.
There were two features to my room (207) that made me feel very uncomfortable i) there were frosted glass bricks in the bathroom wall which looked out into the hotel corridor and ii) the only curtains at the window were lace panels , which meant I had to dress without the light on in the morning and a security light in the courtyard outside which was on a motion sensor kept going on & off through the night. There is an external blind to the window but it wouldn't close.
In Room Facilities:
Flat screen TV (French channels only)
Hairdryer in bathroom
Telephone
3 free chocolates
More important for me was what was missing ; there is no complimentary tea/ coffee or kettle. No radio. There was only one bar of soap which meant you had to carry it between the toilet & bathroom which were separate (usual for French hotels) and at opposite ends of the room from each other.
Summary:
Because of their proximity to a number of large businesses if the hotel refurbish they'd be guaranteed good repeat business. Unfortunately , despite being less than 5 min walk, and the nearest hotel to the offices I visit regularly, I will not recommend this hotel to colleagues and until it is refurbished I won't stay again.
