Second Stay , First Not Rated

The stay at the end of September was identical to the one in the summer of 2016 .
Easy check in and stayed in a suite , like a double room . Hotel has obviously been there for some time per solid construction and furniture dating. At the front office ,
met Ron the desk clerk , professional attitude with other guests as I drank coffee
in the lobby. Will stay again !
Never again...

We've frequented the area many times for pool tourneys. We usually stay at the Sleep Inn and made the mistake of booking at the Comfort Inn because they offered a special rate for the pool tournament (which was no cheaper than the Sleep Inn).
Upon arriving, it was an inconvenience for the front desk clerk to get up from the table she was sitting at in the lobby with her significant other. We got checked in and went to our room.
The first thing I noticed was the security lock (the thing you flip over to secure the door) was missing. I told this to the front desk clerk upon checkout (it wasn't a huge deal because the dead bolt worked). He could've cared less. I'm glad the security of your guests is not important.
The "free wi-if" was non-existent.
Some of the power outlets in the room didn't work.
The batteries in the TV remote control were dead, which lead me to the front desk to interrupt the clerk's time with her husband (or whoever he was) again.
I killed a handful of bugs inside the room. Which isn't a surprise since there was a gap under the door where we could see directly outside.
The room was tiny. Barely enough room to walk between the bed and the dresser. So little room that you can't even open the door of refrigerator very far.
The bathroom was tiny as well. It is virtually impossible to get dressed in the bathroom because of the size. You have to straddle the toilet just to be able to close the door, which by the way, didn't close all the way.
When we return to the area, we will definitely be staying at the Sleep Inn!
Clean

The pros: Clean, comfortable bed, many pillows, nice personnel, conveniently located, free breakfast-wifi & parking. The sink area was ample. Coffee available at all times.
The cons: Not soundproof- I could hear the person above us walking and blowing their nose. The water pressure was weak. I have long thick hair and it was a bit difficult to rinse the shampoo out. The toilet and tub are separate from the sink area and very small. The door barely clears the toilet so you have to move out of the way to shut the door. It would be very difficult for a large person.

I wasn't disappointed with the place. I was told at the local cafe that it was a new hotel but it didn't seem new at all. First problem we had was really that our key card wouldn't work. We were 7 steps from the front desk so I know I didn't deactivate the card that quickly. The clerk irritatingly issued me two new cards but by the time she had that done- my sister was able to get the door open (the card reader is the problem). Then we got in the room. Started to get situated. I walked by the side of the bed and caught my leg on a piece of metal sticking out of the side of the bed (my sister got hers the next morning). The key cards wouldn't work again the following morning when returning from breakfast and the SAME clerk had an attitude about the card not working. Said she couldn't give us anymore cards (well we had one- the others were locked in the room). Breakfast was fine. The lady handling breakfast did a great job keeping it clean and well stocked AND was nice as well!
I didn't expect the four seasons for under 100.00 so I'm not overly disappointed but I travel a lot and don't like to be treated as though I'm stupid. I guess no one does.... right?
nice

This hotel is very easy to find, right off of the highway. The hotel is on a small road with a light, very convenient.
I typically don't book hotels with exterior hallways - it's one of those things that I don't really like, but I booked this one because there wasn't a lot in this area.
When we arrived we were given our room which was over near the pool. The room was nice and clean and the view of the pool was nice and quaint. However there were a TON of people smoking outside and we could smell it in the room. I went to the desk and asked if they could move us and they did, they were great about it . (Thank you, Donna at the desk!)
Our new room was also super clean and nice (and upstairs). We had plenty of room and the beds were comfortable. There was a standard breakfast in the morning - really nothing to complain about!
I would definitely stay here again - excellent quality for what you pay.
