This hotel is a little worn but is a good value. The breakfast is like all Comfort Inns...not very good but some basic things you can eat. My room was a little worn but clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a budget stay so keep that in mind. if the price isn't great look elsewhere.

This Comfort Inn is located in an older, plain-looking building, but the rooms had apparently been freshly renovated. We enjoyed a fairly good breakfast, with the staff doing the best job they could with the pre-prepared breakfast food. The grounds were clean and the staff was friendly. Be careful of the road construction just outside.

Excellent performance at the Barter seeing Sherlock in action!!! Great time and some wonderful meals !! We arrived late afternoon and toured a bit downtown Happy Hour was very enjoyable and relaxing in the Martha Washington Inn. we dined at The Tavern and the food and atmosphere was wonderful with the owner going table to table checking on guest satisfaction!!!
Lunched at the 128 Pecan after a great walk on The Virginia Creeper!!! amazing fare with exceptional Tomato Bisque soup!!

I made a multi-night reservation online, after a search for " pet- friendly " hotels in the Abingdon,Va area. I asked a question online about them taking a 70 lbs dog. All of this happened about three weeks prior to our trip. Got no response to my question, but went with the pet friendly rating. The morning we were going to leave from our first destination, I got a phone call from the Comfort Inn in Abingdon. They informed me they didn't take pets!! What about the 2-3 week time between my reservation and the phone call. Couldn't be bothered? Poor work, in my opinion.

The rooms are well maintained and have had overall update to keep looking fresh and clean. Rooms are good size for the 2 Queen size beds and well decorated. Bathroom is clean and modern with lots of supplies and towels. TV reception is spotty on some channels(very grainy and hard to watch on some local channels) ,this should really be improved. Has free wifi available and has USB plug ins for charging phone etc. Breakfast is really good with a variety of options from cereal, eggs, Belgian waffles, biscuits and sausage gravy(my favorite) to many healthy options as well. Our hiking group had 19 guests on this trip and everyone was very pleased with the rooms and service. There is a reason why we book this place year after year and will be back next year.
