Ok if looking just for somewhere to sleep

It was Parent Weekend at FSU and we booked too late so were stuck out in Midway with prices 3 times normal rates. Hotel has a lot of potential it just is not receiving the attention that it needs. Rooms could be cleaner and service could be better. The room was very large and not dirty, but had a dampness and musty smelling. Breakfast is okay but nothing to get excited about. Is conveniently located right off of I-10.
OK Place to stay - Breakfast not the best!!

Check in and check out was pleasant!! Manager checked with us to make sure room was ok!! Room was clean and comfortable!!
Enjoyed having a first floor room.
Breakfast seemed microwaved! Felt sorry for the host - took care of desk and breakfast. She did get our bill for us promptly.
Decent Hotel

We arrived late at night from driving back to Calif. I thought the lobby was clean and the service was good. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The noise level was low and I had a good nights rest. I would stay here again.
Terrible service!

Our check-in was NOT great! When we arrived there was no one at the desk and thre were 2 other parties waiting to check-in. While we were waiting 2 more parties arrived. I tried to call the number on my reservation and heard the desk phone ring. Then it rolled over to voicemail and said that this person's (Margaret something) voicemail was full. So I stepped outside to call the Choice Hotels 1-800 number and left my husband inside waiting at the desk. Every number I tried to call on their website rolled over to :"your call cannot be completed as dialed". A young early 20's woman finally showed up at the front desk and started checking everyone in. I think she may have been the only employee on site. I felt very bad for her, but I was also very frustrated. I travel with Choice hotels often, and I realize they are nor Ritz Carltons, but the rooms are usually nice and the service has been good. This was a BAD first impression! Once we got into our room, it was very nice, clean and large. We could hear noise from the adjoining rooms, so the walls were not very thick. There was some minor mildew in the tub/shower. Beds were comfortable. There was also a small charging port on the beside table with two regular outlets and two USB ports. Breakfast was good...hot eggs and waffles, cereal, fruit, muffins, etc. We had the same experience at check out as at check in; there was no one at the desk. We stood and waited again for an employee to show up. It turns out that she was also doing breakfast. This location is WAY understaffed!
Sewage in Bathtub

STAY FAR AWAY. Worst hotel management.
We drove from Florida to New Orleans for our anniversary. We stopped at this hotel since it was along the way and it was getting late. We honestly could have driven all the way through, but we wanted a place to take a shower, brush our teeth & get some sleep.
There was a strange smell in the room, but it was late so we went to bed. When we woke up, we turned on the shower and bright yellow water that smelled like sewage filled the tub.
We went to the front desk, and the man told us it wasn't their fault, it was the city's problem. The water was redirecting from the bathrooms above us. He completely ignored us after his response without any apology. We asked if we could at least have some bottled water so we could brush our teeth, and they didn't have any.
We wanted a refund because it was disgusting to have urine in our water. We brushed our teeth in the sink the night before, which could have been contaminated.
He called the manager and offered us $20 off, which wasn’t good enough. They wouldn't give us a full refund, so we left unshowered and feeling gross.
We called the Choice Hotels customer service multiple times over the next few weeks to see what they could do. After our 5th conversation with them, they offered to sign us up for their rewards program and give us enough points towards a free night at a different hotel. I’m sure all Comfort Inns aren’t bad, but I’ve never had someone with less concern for his guests before.
