Great location and nice staff, but needs an refresh!
StanleyandMarieon 17/11/2017 20:21Right off Highway 400, this is a great location to get to just about anywhere in the City or the vicinity. There is also a Tim Hortons right next door and a Mandarin Restaurant very close. The staff were very friendly, but when we got to our room (a King Room suite), it was not what we would expect from a Comfort Inn. The pillows were old, and the bathroom could use an update, and the security latch was broken. Luckily, we were not in our room much, so it still served the purpose. Hopefully renovations are in the near future.
NICE HOTEL
logon2017on 21/10/2017 22:08Our hockey team stayed here this past weekend, We couldn't of asked for a better hotel. The staff was amazing checkin was fast no problems, room were nice and big,The manger let us has a small room where we could have dinner at night and not bother anyone. The Brakfast lady made sure we all had enough food as there was 3 teams in this hotel(lots of kids). If your team ever needs a hotel in Barrie stay here. Thank you to the staff and managerment for such a great weekend, We will be back.

sportsfan13saraon 21/10/2017 20:07This is a wonderful hotel with a lovely staff. The rooms were very spacious and and the beds were very cozy. Breakfast was amazing with many delicious options. We were on a family vacation and I must say that we had a great time. Overall, the staff were genuinely wonderful and the hotel itself was beautiful.
Cheap. but noise polluted
semit919on 19/10/2017 17:11Checking in the lobby looked clean enough, although there was a conflict going on, the manager, an extremely rude, loud woman was berating her staff. the attacks were very personal and had nothing to do with their job performance. she seems like an unstable and downright mean, ignorant person. My wife and I felt embarrassed for the staff. The man entering he hotel remarked that he had never dealt with anyone so foul in all his business travels. room was clean otherwise if you dont mind listening to that managers horrible attitude and mistreatment each time you enter or leave the lobby. SHAMEFUL!
Hotel Nightmare- due to Management the Hotel has Gone Down Hill
2010Timmyon 01/10/2017 21:20I am a Platinum Choice hotel member which means I stay in over 20+ hotels per year for Choice hotels and it is more like 35 hotels/year. All hotels are for pleasure trips only.. The Comfort Inn- Barrie Essa Road is a hotel that has deteriorated rapidly and lacks cleanliness and care. We have stayed 4 times over the years for Casino Rama shows and the hotel got worse each time. Positive: close enough to Casino Rama events. Negatives: walked in and toilet was full of cleaning wipes and had some kind of goo on seat.. we cleaned it ourselves. Check in took longer than needed but a really nice lady. Plants out front all dead. When we got back from casino and a weird man was walking around grounds looking into windows. Breakfast was a nightmare, dirty area, no plastic utensils, no syrup, lady was mad she had to do any work and had no interest in keeping up with the needs. No waffle cups, no thongs, etc etc- Filthy. Choice Hotels needs to find a new Manager for this place. I would NOT recommend a family or couple staying here. If you read this review click the Green "HELPFUL" Box under the review thanks.
