What People are saying
Renovations-but friendly staff

We spent a night here last week. First time being here and at first I was quite sure if the place was safe or not. Looked a little ruff...then inside they are doing some serious renovations. But the staff was quite friendly and that was a big help. Breakfast not much to get excited about especially with the ongoing renovations. We were at the opposite end of the hotel away from the Freeway so it was quiet. Our suite room was fairly nice and the bed was comfy. Kind of an older place. Did not get the chance to check out the pool. On duty day shift manager lady was very helpful in helping us print up our boarding passes for our flight the next day.
SLOW RENOVATIONS, friendly staff

First off I want to say that the staff was amazing. Renovations are going on and that's why they say it's cheaper, however the place was dirty besides the renovations. Clean up trash and debris it's that easy. I can understand some messiness for renovations but the trash in parking lot could be put in a dumpster along with random trash in parking lot that just needed to be picked up i.e. Candy wrappers, pop cans, and other misc trash. The bed was comfy and we stayed in a king suite. The door to the room didn't work properly, had to have staff help us into the room. We needed a room in same town a week later and we didn't book with them for the return trip.
Dangerous

This hotel was under renovation and was a life and safety hazard.
Smoke detectors were covered.
Exposed wires were present.
Abundance of trip hazards. One stairwell was blocked by a hanging wire that we had to lift to walk under.
If they have a fire or other emergency, they will get someone hurt.
There didn't seem to be any effort to clean up daily construction work.
Electricity went out at least twice and was not weather related.
Bad Renovation

Checked in for 3 day while working in the area. Front desk did mention construction was going on and the rooms were done and they are currently working on the hallways and during the process. The halls were horrendous with drywall and paint everywhere and construction debris on the parking lot. I understand the carpet will be replaced but you still need to maintain a professional appearance during construction and make sure your contractors are held to the same standard. The same poor appearance was present with the room cleanliness and breakfast area. My "renovated" room already had numerous spills and stains on the carpet and a 1990 shower head with calcium build up all over it. Overall not a good experience.
Nice Place that is being upgraded

At one time this hotel must have been a 5 star property. Currently they are under going some improvements and those upgrades must have influenced some of their current reviews. However my wife and I stayed here and found the employees very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel through the staff. The rooms are big. Our room had two queen size beds with new mattresses and the bathrooms are large and supplied with all kinds of in-room accessories to help make your stay comfortable. The parking is close to the doors and walking into the hotel is very easy. Lisa and Bobby are two of the staff which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The morning breakfast was terrific. Eggs, sausage, fluffy biscuits and creamy gravy, waffles, fruit juices, coffee, breakfast buns, and a number of other items. The hotel is close to the Durant town and restaurants and is right off the highway so it is easy to access for on and off requirements. By the way, there is no noise from the upgrades. Not sure but they seem to be upgrading the electronics and whatever else that doesn't require noisy equipment. When we are in the Durant area again we will be sure to stay at the Quality Inn because it is a Quality place and the staff is terrific.
