Hotel needs an update

We stayed in this hotel for one night, but we were there long enough to realize the hotel needs an update. We were kept awake in the evening and woke up early due to noise in another room and in the hallway. The tub was so old that it looked dirty.
GOOD but TOO HIGH PRICED ! ! ! !

I am a senior gal and had driven a long way that day and also stopped in St. Louis and did the riverboat cruise so I was way ready for a rest. I stopped here (it is all by itself
with other traditionally inexpensive motels a ways apart from this). I asked for the senior rate which was 94 bucks (with taxes 10 more!!). I was too tired to try other places so I took it. But I did NOT like the price whatsoever. And she asked if I had a 'membership[ which I did but that did NOT help the price !
I asked for a back view of farmland and got 222 which in back has a farm with a HERD of BUFFALO!! VERY cool, enjoyed watching those guys roll around in the dirt, eat, etc.
The room was a spacious room with a king-sized bed. Comfortable easy chair to watch tv. Also, pictures that were local (the St. Louis Arch, BUFFALO!), a local lake) nice touch. Alas, the bathroom NO TUB and after driving all day I long for a soak in a hot bath. No such luck. Very over-priced with NO TUB ! !
I stayed for the breakfast, scrambled eggs and some sausage, it was fine. Some fresh fruit.
I had a nice young woman at check-in and a nice young man who did the breakfast and front desk when I left early.
I am sorry I didn't stay in St. Louis because it wouldn't have cost too much more for a room THERE and was looking for INEXPENSIVE and I do not think 104 for a senior room at a COMFORT INN is such. UNDOUBTEDLY explains why at 5:30 a.m. when I did a walk outside there were only 20 cars (I'm counting 2 which were probably employees).
Decent stay

It was slim pickings for hotels in Greenville, so we ended up at the Comfort Inn. The lobby area was very nice. The hotel has clearly had some work done on it recently. We got checked in quickly and headed up to our room.
I would recommend getting a rear facing room. Not only will you avoid highway noise, but you can enjoy watching the herd of bison out back. Our room was pretty satisfactory. There were a few minor maintenance issues. The bathroom door was really difficult to open and close, one of the bathroom light bulbs was out making it pretty dim in there. I was finishing up a cold and was annoyed the kleenex box was empty in the room. The mini fridge was also pretty old and kept our waters cool but not cold. We found the bed to be comfortable enough and got a decent night of sleep.
Breakfast was very adequate. Eggs, sausage, muffins, cereal, breads...everything you need to start the day. All in all it was not a bad stay. I will stay here again if I am back in Greenville.
an improvement from before.

When I stayed here 2 years ago, I would have given the hotel 2 stars. It appeared run down and dated with dirty carpets and old furniture. I was surprised on this visit that the hotel had been remodeled. The lobby has new furniture with an updated look. New carpeting and paint in the rooms made it look clean and new. They also remodeled the bathroom...now it has a bathtub, instead of just a walk-in shower.
Overall, a good change. still offers the standard complementary breakfast of eggs, waffles, cereals, muffins, coffee, juices, etc. in an updated dining room. Staff always friendly.
the only thing that needs to change is the bed. although they upgraded everything, it seems that they are still using the old beds. mattresses were a bit uncomfortable.
If you stay here, ask for a view of the back where you can see buffalos roaming in the fields behind the hotel.
Look at Super 8 or EconoLodge first.

Upon arrival into my room, I noticed how warm the room was despite the setting on the AC unit. I turned the temperature down and after 30 minutes, there was no change. In addition, the feet of the bed was higher than the head of the bed (pulling the tucked in sheets out didn't make a difference although Brett/Brent said it did). I requested a new room and was given one but despite my apology for the move, Brett/Brent never acknowledged the inconvenience to me! (He was professional). As soon as I opened the door to the other room, I was met with cool air! The bed was better but still not good for someone with a bad back...little support. The exercise room looked very nice but the Elliptical Trainer was rusted looking and shook so badly when used, it felt like one screw was holding it together. The treadmill worked fine. The room itself was large and well kept. The bathroom was adequate and was also clean. Other front desk employees were very helpful, friendly and polite.
