Disappointing! Dated facility!

Upon arrival we were eventually greeted by a disgruntled staff member who seemed tired and overworked? She was surrounded by boxes from CHOICE, not sure why they were stacked at the checkin desk. Checking was o.k., kinda slow and clerk complained about having a bad day. An elderly couple arrived and had to wait so long they sat down in lobby. We took out luggage cart to our room, unloaded and took the cart back to the lobby. They couple was still trying to register. Anyway, our room was a handicapped room. We didn't request such. The long DARK and dank hallway leading to our room - above the wall on the outside of our room was an antiquated air conditioner WITHOUT A COVER. Entering our room there was an 'odd' odor? Not sure what that was but we quickly turned on the air conditioner on this 90+ degree day. Shouldn't SOME air be on to help? The draperies were wide open with hot sun flowing into the room through the dirty and 'smokey' looking window. Next to the a/c was a recliner - VERY faded and with a broken arm!! We did not even sit in it. We had a small kitchen area but we could never figure out how to turn on the light!? There was a small coffee pot and one coffee filter pod. ONE. No paper products or anything, just numerous empty kitchen cabinets. The painting of the walls seemed very dated, as were the lamps and other fixtures. The dresser was worn, finish was missing along edges. In the bathroom - no counter - there is a tiny shelf above the sink. Here sat a bottle of shampoo - 1/2 gone and the lid open!!! Needless to say we didn't want this and threw it away. My husband went to the front desk and advised her about this - she said ' oh, it must have had a hole in it or something!" NO- it was USED!! She gave him replacements. When he inquired about towels as we needed some extra hand towels and washclothes and he was told "we usually only give them out when you bring the dirties to us!" WHAT?? she gave him two hand towels and two wash clothes. The wireless internet service was horrible, as bad as dial up. We didn't even attempt to use it. The bed was comfortable and seemed to have been replaced more recently than the furnishings. Needless to say we were disappointed!!! My husband had stayed at this facility in the past and was on third floor. Room was ok at that time, maybe a year ago. The breakfast dining room was HOT and the tables were rocking and very dated. Eggs were inedible, as was coffee. We will not stay at this location again. Disappointed.
No Hot Tub Any Longer, decent hotel

So I tend to look at hotel websites as well as tripadvisor to research a hotel before booking. A must in a hotel for me is a hot tub and indoor pool. While I found no mention of a hot tub on the hotel website, the tripadvisor showed a photo of it and listed a review two months ago that talked about the nice hot tub. Imagine my surprise when I check in, change into my swimsuit and am greeted by a Tiled area where the hot tub used to be! Very disappointing and while I am at fault for not researching further or calling to verify, since it had a hot tub previously, it would've been nice for them to mention the fact that they no longer did on their website. Other than that the rooms were great, hotel was quiet, breakfast was sufficient. Front desk staff was very polite. There were no towels left in the pool area but they were quick to refill them once my daughter made them aware. I wouldn't stay here again but only because a hot tub is a must have if I am paying over $100 a night for a room. Loved that we had a fridge and microwave in our room! Pool area was fine but could use a good cleaning/update.
A Good Nights Sleep

Stopped here on our way home to Canada from Georgia in August of 2016. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious and clean. Pool was great, and so was the hot tub. Hot tub isn't huge, though. Hot breakfast the next day was great. Probably one of the best Comfort Inns that I've been to.
familiar ground

This place is so hard to book for May Day each year, it has been said that one would have to do it in January! Well, I got lucky this time, and got in with a few days' notice. It has changed, even better than before. The city has added a good picnic shatter, and another local company put a bike on one side of the property. There are a few more outdoors tables and chairs for guests to enjoy the natural scenery. I stayed there once 16 years ago, it is even better this time. We have a downstairs room. It is handicap-equipped, entrance into the bathroom and the shower. The washbowl is a bit low and small, but it can accommodate kids, but the shower is large with a good horizontal grab-bar that goes around corner, two-to-three feet in each direction, and a vertical bar for exit. The shower head is very good, and there is even a good-size fold-down bench for a guest to sit The facility is now smoke-free, and breakfast is still provided free, with plenty of fruits. It also has an indoors swimming pool.
We can do better! Only semi-comfort!

Overall I rate this Comfort Inn as very average. There are many ways that could make this Inn "Super - Comfort" instead of just "Comfort." My room seemed damp all the time; uncomfortably so. The staff was friendly. The worst thing is the breakfast. I can generally tolerate instant eggs, but these scrambled eggs were weird in appearance and really weird in taste. Horrible actually. The meat patty was equally unpleasant tasting; maybe old piggies? So overall not that bad but room for improvement too. I'll probably not stay there next time.
