Concerns:
I had to switch rooms three times.
First room. 10.26.2017
a. Handle missing from chest of drawers.
Second room. 10.26.2017
a. Ironing board cover needed to be replaced, (Badly burned and contained unknown hardened substance.)
b. Iron leaked profusely.
c. Unable to use shower.
Third room. 10.27.2017
a. No clock radio. (A small clock was later provided)
b. Each time I entered or left the room I had to manually ensure that the door was secured. (Facilites said the the door spring needed to be adjusted.)
I talked with the owner about my concerns on the second day of my three day stay. He was in a hurry to get to a meeting and informed me that the manager would handle my concerns. Empathy does not appear to be one of the owner's characteristics.
I believe I was very tolerant with my RLH service experience.
One guest was not as tolerant. After overhearing my talk with the desk attendant and inspecting his reserved room, he immediately cancelled his reservation. He did not allowing his family to unload their vehicle.
It appears that staffing and prior room inspections is a detriment to RLH quality service at the Auburn, CA hotel.

Clean and a relax place to go for business or fun. The room are quit with very conformable beds with plenty of room just stay in for the day. Perfect location close to all restaurants, stores and recreation areas. Right of I-80 easy to find. I will come back again

The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the continental breakfast offers a nice variety of hot food options. I have a large family and it is nice to stay somewhere that offers a nice breakfast to help offset the cost of travel.

Had a small dog, evacuated from the Lobo fire. where to go? Red Lion Inn saved the day. Clean, quiet, they did not take advantage of us being forced their way. Warm coffee, clean comfortable room with free wifi to connect with family.
Good breakfast in the morning, free parking, really appreciated a comfortable place to stay and re-group.

Had a family member getting married in Lake Tahoe and the hotel, B&B rates were $400-$750 per night. I didn't want to pay Hawaii prices just to sleep and shower for two nights, so I stayed in Auburn, 60 miles away and made the drive for the wedding festivities two nights. That and I had two free nights stay at a Red Lion.
The Red Lion was functional as a hotel. Clean room, comes with breakfast in the morning, Wi-Fi and mini-fridge included with a pool.
Close to restaurants and grocery store.
