The Inn has a good location. The room is clean, pleasant and comfortable. I did not like that when going to the bathroom at night in the dark, the sensor light came on waking me more than I wished. Furnishings were minimal particularly if wanting a desk to set-up laptop.

We did a last minute trip up to Napa and decided to try this hotel. It advertises itself as a swanky boutique hotel but it is NOT. It is a lot closer to a Motel 6....which may be disrespectful to a Motel 6. The room was small, adequate however had a moldy smell as if it hadn't been touched in a while. The "hot springs" is a small pool and smaller jacuzzi. The breakfast consists of coffee and a few pastries, really not much to it. I've stayed in chain hotels that were better kept and cleaner. The view is of the street, It wasn't terrible, and the location was very good - walking distance to the main part of town. However it should be priced closer to $70-$80 a night not $180-$200, not at all worth it. Much better choices in Calistoga area, try one of the quaint B&B's much better deal quality and service at that price point.

I recently stayed there for a business trip when loud people moved into the room next door smoking skunk weed inside a room equipped with an outdoor balcony. I had to call the front desk three times asking for a different room or an air purifier before they came by and agreed it smelled awful in there. I was moved temporarily to a smaller room then in the morning when I spoke with them I was downgraded again to avoid being next to the rude people instead of making them move so I didn't have to relocate all of my things. I have never stayed at a less accommodating hotel. They have been close to booked the whole time which means someone else will be stuck next to those people with an adjoining thin door without any weather stripping to reduce the smell traveling in.

Pretty basic place. Room itself was fine. Air conditioner was very loud so we actually could hardly sleep. Pool is pretty nice. Breakfast room looked like what a teenager or college student would throw together is they had $100. Pastries were all extremely low quality, Costco lowest price quality. I believe we paid about $330 for one night and would say that it was not worth it. If you can get a room for less than $200 that is probably closer to what it is worth.

The UpValley Inn has been remodeled since I last stayed there. In fact, they are not quite through as the sauna, steam room, etc. are still unavailable. Otherwise the rooms are clean and modern. A few distractions: 1)The light from the adjoining room was clearly visible under the shared door and conversations from the other room were audible. Perhaps a door sweep is needed? 2)LED light from two alarm clocks and a wine cooler kept the room too bright at night. 3)There was no trash can in our room. 4)The inner courtyard needs lush grass rather than crushed granite which is hot and tracks back to your room. Overall, I hope to stay there again one day.
