Quiet Comfortable Stay
SailorAirmanon 17/11/2017 14:05Stayed here while in town waiting for the ferry over to Newfoundland. There was nothing special about the place but it was quiet and comfortable. The room was pretty typical for a Comfort Inn, one nice touch was the motion activated light in the bathroom.
The free breakfast in the morning was pretty good with cheese omlettes and sausage patties. Overall a good place to spend a night or two in Sydney.
Great stay
Lisa Won 24/10/2017 04:06We were very pleased with the Comfort Inn. The room was clean and the bed slept very good. This was a great location for us. Plenty of restaurants in the area. They had plenty of hot water and the towels were nice and fluffy. We found the room to be very suitable for us and would stay here again. The breakfast was typical Choice Hotels which is fine. The staff were also polite and helpful.
Fine for our needs
fisherman4043on 21/10/2017 17:30Standard hotel, nothing fancy but good location, good price, clean and quiet, staff pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again as it is close to restaurants and walkway along the river. Only negative: no elevator so be prepared to deal with steps and luggage.
Decent place
rick won 15/10/2017 02:53Arrived with my group of 52 seniors to find they had put,us all on the second floor and no elevator. Once I got past that the place was ok. Rooms were clean, good location, complimentary breakfast was adequate and well stocked. The parking lot was difficult for my bus but would be ok for cars.
Decent hotel but avoid the breakfast
Tvordljon 02/10/2017 15:42The Comfort Inn is a budget hotel and located near Sydney, Nova Scotia. The downtown Sydney area is about a 5 - 10 minute drive. The hotel is two floors and does not have an elevator so anyone with a lot of luggage or mobility issues should keep that in mind.
Staff at check in was good, lots of free parking, wifi worked well. Breakfast room won't accommodate if the hotel is full but you could take it back to your room. We found the housekeeping a bit suspect. There is a fridge and microwave in the room which is a nice addition. Enough towels provided. Hot water had good pressure.
Overall the room was clean but the coffee maker was not cleaned out from the previous guest for one of our party and for us, after the first of two nights, the coffee maker in our room wasn't cleaned out either. We did ask at the desk in the evening for more coffee which we received but then the next day, the housekeeping didn't leave the normal coffee allottment. The idea was to have extra available.I guess we should have left a note asking for more.
The breakfast is free but unless you are happy with cereal and toast, you won't likely enjoy it. The eggs and sausage patties were barely warm, the eggs being all exactly the same size and shape including the yolks, as if they were thinly sliced off a loaf. The sausage was like cardboard. Coffee was not very good. We couldn't face it the second morning and ate elsewhere.
Overall, not a bad place to stay on a budget for a night or two but improvements could be made.
