The Comfort Suites on Fieldstone Way is clean, quiet and comfortable. It is in a convenient location to both downtown Lexington and the many nearby distilleries. The hotel entrance is a bit confusing, but easy once you find it. This hotel will be my choice when I next return to Lexington.

I made a reservation over the phone the morning of my anticipated arrival at this hotel. It was a busy weekend in Lexington, and I paid a premium price for this room ($209). I was told that since I was making the booking the day of arrival, it was NON-REFUNDABLE. That was fine with me.
A few hours later, the property tried to contact me. They left a voice message, but I had arrived at the hotel prior to receiving it. Upon giving my name at the desk, I was told that the hotel had overbooked and that I had been moved to a Comfort Inn on Athens Boonesboro Rd. I'm a simple person and don't require a luxury suite. HOWEVER, the hotel they moved me to has a 1-star customer rating on Trip Advisor. It was $65 (about $140 less than what I was going to pay at the original hotel). And, the location was on the other side of town, adjacent to a strip club and the interstate. In other words, the hotel I was being booted to was absolutely NOT comparable to the original property.
Although annoying, I understand that overbookings happen. I told the desk clerk that the Athens Boonesboro Rd hotel would not work for us and that I needed to cancel it. Here's where things took a MAJOR turn for the worse. She said she couldn't do anything about cancelling it for me because my reservation had been moved to the other property.
Suddenly, this overbooking became MY problem to handle all on my own. I stood in the lobby and placed multiple phone calls to the hotel near the strip club.The staff was not answering the phone. It just rang and rang and rang. I asked the front desk clerk to also try them. They didn't answer her call either. So, there I was with a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation at a shady hotel and was being told the only way to fix it would be to call that hotel, but they weren't answering.
Plus, I also realized that if I actually did manage to reach them, there would be no guarantee they would agree to cancel my non-refundable reservation. I also didn't know whether they intended to keep my $209 or reduce my rate to the new hotel's price ($65).
By this point, I was just anxious to get it all taken care of, so I called the chain's toll free number. The man I spoke with said he would have to call the hotel to get them to cancel the reservation. I wished him luck and explained that they were not answering. I was on hold for what felt like an eternity. He came back on and informed me that he couldn't get an answer. I was like, Really?? No kidding??!! I was starting to get really upset because I felt like I was between a rock and a hard place with this chain and was getting no where.
Suddenly, he changed his mind about needing to call that hotel and said he would take care of cancelling my reservation. I was in shock. Why did I just spend an eternity on hold if he'd had the ability to cancel it all along??? Then he asked if I wanted to cancel both my rooms or just one. I said I had only booked one. He argued with me that I had two rooms booked. I reminded him that probably I had two rooms booked because the first hotel overbooked and moved my room to another hotel and that both were showing up in his system.
Miracle of miracles, he cancelled my reservation(s). I wasted a chunk of what was going to be a special day just trying to get it sorted out, when it never should have been my problem to start with. He then mumbled something about how I was eligible for up to $100. I thought, well, this has stunk, but I might as well take the $100 for a future booking. He told me to hold and info would come on about the money. He clicked me over to a recorded message that was a SALES PITCH about how I could get some sort of resort, blah, blah, blah. It had nothing to do with apologizing to me for this fiasco. What a mess.

Location and price were good for our son's weekend swim team event we were briefly in town to attend. It's an older property but the room was comfortable, clean and sufficient. Consistently friendly staff and nice selection at the breakfast bar were pluses as well.

Very nice rooms, coach, table, desk, microwave, fride, safe. Breakfast very good.Only questionable things, we're the ice and the vending were on first floor only and the elevator was like in a closet.

My stay at the Comfort Inns and Suites has been a pleasant one. Everyone is extremely helpful but one person stands out. Her name is Kim she works in the evening and she does so much to keep the night running most people couldn't keep up with her. She is multifaceted and multi-talented in her abilities. If not for her I think the evening shift would disintegrate into madness. She has assisted me on several occasions and continues to do so today. She has more than earned her place in the Comfort Inn family.
The rooms are kept at a high standard they're clean daily occasionally there's a problem, but not one so severe that it can't be fixed immediately. Breakfast I would have to say are my favorite time of the day. Everything is cooked fresh daily. And all items are hot and ready. The chefs keep food pumping out of the kitchen the keep up with the demand for the food.
The atmosphere at Comfort Inns and Suites is more than a hospitable one it is a family-oriented one. The perfect place to bring a little ones to relax and enjoy the scenery and all that Lexington has to offer. the location of Comfort Inns is perfect it's clearly visible from the highway in both day and night. Which draws people to it. The rewards program for Choice Hotels is also here and it's perfect anybody can sign up and I recommend everybody sign up.
Currently the building is undergoing a facelift of sorts. Nothing on the inside is being touched just the outside to make it more appealing and I must say it is spectacular I've watched it progressed over the past few days and they are doing a splendid job. Photographs will be included.
On location is also a workout center and an indoor pool. The pool is not extremely deep is the deepest part only goes 5 ft. The workout room comes with several machines. The doors leading to these rooms require a key card entry which means you have to be a resident of Comfort Inns in order to gain access. The area in which Comfort Inn is set as a multitude of restaurants and stores surrounding it including but not limited to Cracker Barrel, Arby's, McDonald's, Wendy's, Bob Evans, Walmart, and Starbucks. To name a few. And it is good to mention that we are a mere 20 minutes away from Keeneland for those of you that enjoy the horse races.
