Although the desk staff was very friendly and kind, this hotel needs some serious updates and cleaning. First, the good news: the bed was very comfortable, and as I said, the staff is super friendly. What needs to be improved: better maintenance and cleaning. The elevator is beat up, the doors were all dirty, and the carpet outside the elevator on our floor was ripped. Our room smelled like smoke (really bad), but I didn't ask for another room because I figured they were booked from Family weekend at Elon. So we just tried to deal with it, and make the best of it,since we really didn't spend much time in the room. I guess someone had smoked in this room at some point, and the smell was embedded in the carpet and curtains. It was pretty bad. There was a small sofa in the room, but we did not sit on it because it was all stained and beat up. A/C sounded like it was on it's last leg. Even though the room had lots of lamps/lights, it was still very dark. I think it is time for the corporate office to invest in this hotel and give it an overhaul. Bath products, tissues and toilet tissues are all low quality too. I can't provide feedback on breakfast, because we ate at The Press in Graham both days.

I stayed here in August and was very pleased. My visit with my grandson and didn't use the amenities. So September I decided to stay here and use the amenities. To my surprise the pool wasn't heated and the hot tub was cool. Someone went to the front desk they were told them they don't heat the pool until October. Then why advertise a heated pool or hot tub if you aren't going to use them. My trip just went sour because I book for amenities. The rooms are reasonable about 100$ a night if you have the amenities to go with it. The rooms facing the interstate are the quiet rooms. The rooms I stayed in were nice big and clean.Oh don't forget you have breakfast too. very nice having waffles,eggs,sausage,and of course the usual continental breakfast.

Clean, quiet, right off I40/I85 and only a few miles from Elon University. Breakfast might not satisfy the "chronic breakfast complainers" on here, but had all the standard fare and was fine. Rooms well lit with the lamps on, parking lot also well lit. Bathrooms clean. Would definitely stay here again.

2 stars because the rooms are a good size and clean. And the breakfast is average. But don't stay here if your looking for the amenities. Ahead of staying here I had read reviews that the hot tub and pool didn't work. This being on of the reasons we chose to stay here I called to find out. They said "the pool works fine but the hot tub is under maintenance." when we showed up the pool was green and has a gross film on the top and the hot tub did not work. On the websites they also claim to have a fitness center. In the actual hotel there is signage directing you towards the fitness center but it does not exist. Majority of staff is rude.

king room is generous in size, but sofa sleeper is ancient and its cushions disappear under your weight. In need of a paint job to cover ancient nicks and scrapes throughout. Carpet in hall not clean. Lighting in bathroom so "soft" you could hardly see well at all. In-room coffee maker incredibly slow to start working after turning on. On entering room a.c. fan was not running, although set to do so. Buttons to no avail! Turning whole unit off and then on again got the "constant fan" only setting to work. Turned temp down to 68 so that it would run, and was comfortable, but needed only light sheet at that temp! Pool and spa were closed for maintenance! Front desk person said inspector failed to show up Friday and that he had thought about calling me ahead, but it was after 11 pm, so . . . Yes, it would have made me choose another hotel if I had known. Somewhat weird experience, and somewhat disappointing.
