Our family stayed at the hotel for 1 day in June. The experience was disgusting.The front desk woman barked and ordered me around at checked in. The manager was present and seemed condoning her subordinate's rudeness. Both of them didn't see me as a customer because I booked through Hotel.com.The manager refused to accommodate my request for a room on higher floor even though the hotel was very empty. We ended up in a noisy room on the first floor close to the curve. The beds seemed old and dirty. My daughter got bed bug bites all over her arms the next morning.
My advise to tripadvisor readers is avoid this hotel. There are other comparable hotels on this 7th street that you might experience better stay. Our family we just took a trip to South Padre Island last week. Although there is a Comfort Suites on the island and its price was in my range I completely ignored it. I'll never book Comfort Suites in Bay City or anywhere else again. I don't support a company that hired ignorant manager.

My family and I stayed here for three nights. The first night there was mold (or some sort of water issue - but no smell of mold) on the bathroom ceiling and stains on the sheets. When we mentioned this to the manager the next morning she tried to accommodate us by offering a different room (which was on the first floor - which I do not like), but we said if they would just address the issues with the room we were in, we would stay. When we got back to the room that evening they had painted the bathroom ceiling and given us all new linens. On our last night we came back to our room, our door was propped open! Apparently housekeeping left it that way - all day! We checked our stuff and nothing was missing. Upon check out early the next morning I requested to speak to the manager and was told she would call me and she never did. So I'm writing this review. Supposedly they are renovating the entire hotel, which will be nice… but I won't see it because we won't be back. There are other hotels in Bay City.

I read some of the other peoples comments about this hotel and i dont get it! We dont have nothin negative to say about this place. We swam and barbqued there, the workers there are pretty cool and nice. My kids wanted extra blankets cuz me and my wife like it cold and the lady at the front desk gave us extra blankets. They are friendly and took time to talk to my girls. Rooms were nice and clean. We ate the breakfast there and again, no complaints from us. We had a nice time and we cant wait to go back.

Well I just have to mention the lobby, the chandelier hanging in the lobby is so beautiful and seeing that and how beautiful the lobby and breakfast area was, just made me smile. The front desk workers and the maids/housekeepers are friendly. The breakfast is the morning was delicious and the coffee I couldn't have enough. Our rooms were clean and fresh. We honestly didn't have any complaints. We have already reserved for another stay next month.

A friend and I went on a last minute trip to Matagorda Beach and nearest place with hotel vacancies was Bay City. We stayed at the Comfort Suites for one night. The walls above the bed were dusty. My friend pulled back the sheets to find a stain in the middle of the sheets that was suspect. We were on the first floor and the main level bathrooms backed to the wall that the beds were on. Several times during the night the walls vibrated like a washing machine that was off balance. Upon check out I requested a receipt and was presented with one that reflected a price $10 less than what I booked it for. When I questioned it the receipt was taken back and I was told to contact Travelocity.
