Stayed their one night and grandson spilled Kool-Aid on carpet. We discussed this with management and agreed to clean up. We cleaned up the stain to the point that absolutely no one would be able to notice it. Now management and owners are charging us $1800 to REPLACE the whole room with new carpet.
Not Verizone Friendly and connectivity issues

On the plus side I found the room freshly renovated with plenty of room, comfortable bed and large bathroom. Other pluses was friendly service and an adequate free breakfast and good coffee. HOWEVER, on the negative side, I finally found a location in the united states where I could not get Verizon cell service on my phone and its inside this hotel. It was very frustrating because to use my phone I had to go outside into the parking lot to get reception. I addressed my concern to the front desk and they said it was an issue that they were aware of. Also, I could not get Wi-Fi on my android phone but did get Wi-Fi on my wife's apple devices. The PC in the lobby's "business center" had sporadic issues connecting to the internet as well. The other minor issue was the room microwave. Although brand new, I found it was unplugged from the outlet. I had to move the cabinet to plug it in. when I did, it just beeped and no matter what buttons I pushed, nothing happened. I unplugged it and reported it to the front desk, however, no one ever came to look at it or replace it. My last complaint was that the outdoor pool was closed. I asked why and they said it was closed for the season. IDK, the temps were still in the high 80's for my early October stay and couldn't understand the reasoning for the pool being closed. so, all in all it was a frustrating stay do to mainly the connectivity issues.
Shocking experience no recourse

Good day,
my father and I stayed at the comfort Inn and Suites in Clayton recently on a business trip. I have no idea how the previous guests would rate the stay as favourable. From the moment I stepped into the establishment we were hit with the smell of cigarette smoke, although the motel is declared as "Smoke Free". The carpets are soiled and lifting as one walks down the hallway to the rooms. Upon entering the tired room, we noticed it was dark and hot. The free standing lamp had no plug available to plug in for use, so we placed it on the otherside of the room where there was an outlet leaving the living area in darkness. The paint on the bathroom door was peeling and the shower faucet leaked out of the lower tap when in use.
What was shocking however was that when we pulled the sheets back to go the bed they were stained with blood. Several stains were visible on the sheets and on two pillow cases.
Upon checking out, I mentioned the issue to the receptionist who said she could not offer anything in the way of a discount but that she would let management know of the issue. One and half weeks later I have received neither an email or phone call.
Please save yourself alot of aggrevation and do not stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Clayton.
Wife was very impressed with their cleanliness

Hotel actually had a new feel to it, but we were told there were going to be going through a renovation as the last one had been ten years ago. You could've fooled me. Highly recommend this as a reasonably priced place to stay in the area.
Great stay

Enjoyed my visit with friends. My room was nice. Desk clerk was friendly, allowed us to visit in dining room to catch up. Hotel was close to restaurants and retail stores. I liked the breakfast as well. Desk clerk told us they were soon to start renovations to make the hotel even better. Next visit with my friends, this will be my stop.
