What People are saying
Terrible
Reddackelon 01/11/2017 23:08The condition of the hotel is run down and out of date. I reserved the presidential suite. It was disgusting. The hot tub was from the 1980s and organic matter floated from the jets when turned on. There was black mold in the jacuzzi controls. There was a spider making an egg sac on the wall in the bathroom. He was so big, I could have given him a name and called him a pet. There were holes in the walls and doors. White stains of something on the floor. My ground floor bedroom window would not close fully. There was no screen. One could stick their hands into the room and pull the window open. The hotel staff did quickly install a small window lock in the filthy sill. As hard as housekeeping tries to keep the room clean, it is quite impossible to do when the hotel is run down, furniture and fixtures old. The bed was clean and comfortable. The staff tried to make my stay pleasant, but they were fully aware of the condition of this room which could not be denied. I feel swindled by Comfort Suites and it's ridiculous that one would advertise this as a presidential suite. I will never trust Comfort Suites and you will never receive my business again. If this hotel is privately owned, then there is your problem. If this hotel is owned by corporate, you better get somebody down there. The only thing you had going for you was that your staff was pleasant and responsive but they can only do so much in the disaster that you call Comfort Suites, Lansing. I planned to stay two nights and I checked out after the first. I paid for my first night, but should have been comped.
***UPDATE: On October 25th, I received this response directly from the hotel manager, after I responded to a survey that Comfort Suites sent me:
"I will come forward and say that your complaints were taken by me personally as I inspected your room quickly upon hearing your unhappiness. We strive on keeping our hotel in the best possible condition. Upon your above listed complaints, all were false except the window issue. Your window not fully closing, was quickly resolved in a manner of minutes, by me personally. We did have some issues with payment upon check-in with your card & we believe you may have been looking for a complimentary night from the start. Our front desk agent alerted me to your complaints and I quickly resolved the one issue. I do not appreciate dishonest guests and take the quality and service of our Comfort Suites hotel very seriously. If you have any further questions I would love to talk to you over the phone. You can reach me anytime, as our Comfort Suites guests are our number one concern.
Respectfully Yours,

I responded to Jerry that I would be not need to discuss my concerns with him. His email to me was inflammatory. I conducted myself with integrity and will continue to do so (admittedly, I could have left off the size of the pet spider). Make sure to review the pictures I took of the "Presidential Suite". Jerry took this review personally and that really is a shame. Now, you get to see his lack of professionalism.
Beware of Comfort Suites, Lansing.
If you do stay there, be aware that if you pre-pay ahead, like I did (the "problem" with my credit card that Jerry referred to), you will have to pay again at the hotel -this was the confusion).
I reserved the Presidential Suite - gah! The room was a disaster in every way.
The the front desk personnel were lovely.
Bottom line - there is a Holiday Inn Express directly across the parking lot. Stay there instead.
Quite a pleasent place to stay for the good price
Snowbird888on 05/09/2017 06:01This Comfort Suites seems to be located in the middle of nowhere, but is quite accessible from I-94 and I-80. The building and facilities are not new, but it is well maintained. This hotel may not up to the highest Comfort Suites standards, it is nevertheless reaching the qualitative bar quite well. Rooms are quite clean and spacious, breakfast varieties are reasonably good, and there are adequate power and USB outlets for recharging all the gadgets. The only complaint is the wifi speed are quite slow at times, especially in the room.
The most average hotel I've ever stayed in, EVER!
PKsTrippinon 10/07/2017 20:25In town for a baseball tournament. Forced to stay at this hotel because the team received a group rate. The hotel wasn't bad, the hotel wasn't great. It was just situated right where we needed to be for the tournament so in that regard it was fine.
Just remarkably average all the way around. Huge up side was the freezer in the mini fridge in the room.
average
agn610on 15/05/2017 01:20We were moved from our original room after found rubbish, including female items, still in the bathroom bin, given upgrade and good service. New room had no tea bags then cups not replaced during daily service. Not much but expect better. Housekeeping supervisor needs to train better and have quality control check list if inexperienced staff.
Great Stay!
Alllyllyon 01/03/2017 16:55I had a very clean room, furniture seemed new. The staff was great. I felt very welcome and they answered all my questions. The next morning they quickly answered my requests for toothpaste and a tooth brush. Would definetly stay here again.
