My partner called the hotel from the car as it's located in what was a good area for us to stop over night to break two days of long distance driving. The reception was poor, so both parties struggled a bit to hear as he placed an order for two people and a dog for a night.
When we showed up, the receptionist told us straight away that she had struggled to hear him, and it turned out she hadn't caught the part about the dog. Fair enough, it happens!
I told her that if no rooms available we would try somewhere else, there was still daylight and we weren't completely shot. She then told us we could have a room, but she was not happy about it and proceeded to lecture me on why hotels needed to use specific rooms for dogs in case of allergies. Funnily enough most dog owners are aware of this, which is why we specify when booking and I thought we'd been through that. After a couple of more statements of how unhappy she was with this solution it escalated to being _extremely_ unhappy with it. After five repeats I had it and told her that we were not interested in getting her into trouble and would go somewhere else if she didn't have a room it was ok to give us. It was now no problem and we proceeded to check in and pre-pay.
We then got to the room. Now, in March this year a previous guest has left a review specifically mentioning room 239 as severely below par, after which the management has responded acknowledging that the room might be a bit tired due to ongoing renovations not yet reaching that part of the building, and that they would rectify the key issues. I had not read this review at the time, but let's just say that room 239 made me have a look at just how on earth this place gets away with their prices.
The musty, dank smell of the room would not lift after an hour of having the window open, and our dog immediately found something unidentified to eat under the bed. The bathroom was just plain unclean, and one of the bedside lamps broken. No air circulation gave problems sleeping, but we managed.
The breakfast the next morning was nice!
After raising my concerns with the room, the lady who checked us out wrote "bathroom cleaning" on a post-it and confirmed that the room bill was paid and have a good day. No "so sorry, we promise we'll look into it" or "really?!? We'll get that seen to right away!".
Honesty goes a long way and would have avoided this review. I don't like a business that will post online that they will fix something and then not fix it. Also, don't then rent that room out to people with dogs after trying to guilt trip them for inconveniencing the receptionist. If we'd been told that the only room we could have due to the dog was this, the choice would have been ours to go somewhere else.

We went for a communion lunch party and were served an excellent selection of wine, high quality food and drinks. The chef presented each dish, and the head waiter, each organic wine. The surroundings are idyllic and the place is well suited for large parties. And don't forget the spa .-)

Great location, not far from Copenhagen. Close to Helsingor. Easy to get to the spa-hotel by train from CPH or by bike from Helsingor.
This hotel has a nice green area. Personnel is friendly and helpful. Facilities are very nice and cozy.
Spa is fantastic even though it looks small. There are various water areas, saunas, beds to rest. Perfect for couples.
Interior is relaxing for eyes, everything is made to calm you down.
Rooms are ok. Also, very poor wi-fi signal.
As per food - it was high-quality restaurant food that impresses. We had a fantastic dessert that my boyfriend would be able to eat until he explodes. That means a lot )))
We had nice morning runs around the hotel. Sea line is close so 5k run from the hotel included running along the water. It was sunny and it felt perfect. Receptionist suggested that running route.
I would return there again. For sure.

Very good place but vegetarian option leave a lot to ask for. Lunch was OK but evening dinner was a waste. Starters cold fried parsnips with celery slices. Cod is still a fish and not a vegetable, if you forgotten.

A nice spa day with a very good dinner.
The spa is a good experience and the outside jacuzzi is just perfect.
The room was clean and nice decorated and with soft beds.
Dinner was excellent with a very professional staff serving it
