What People are saying

A very good hotel

Dusan12311 on 08/11/2017 14:35

I stayed at the Connect Hotel Stockholm in November 2017 as I needed to attend a conference at Stockolhmmassan conference center for several days. The hotel very close to the conference center (8min walk) and 4min away from the Alvsjo railway station where the commuter rail passes (reaches Stockholm city center in 15 min and Arlanda airport in 50). The hotel was clean, the staff extremely friendly, the breakfast very good. The price was very reasonnable as well. I appreciated my stay there

great accomodation with breakfast

Tegan1309 on 11/10/2017 17:20

The hotel was one of the cheapest we could find in Stockholm, and it came with breakfast which sorted us out for the price difference in Stockholm to eastern Europe! The beds were comfy, shower was clean, the only problem was the childrens play area outside our window - very noisy in the morning! Great access to the train and we found the 72 hour travel pass to be of great use as we used a lot of the transport in Stockholm due to how spread out it is CARD ONLY HOTEL

Breakfast was made up of bread, meats cheese, fruit cereal and a lot of salad. Was told there was no rolls to refresh the basket which was disappointing

Good location, average on budget

Strong point of the hotel: 1-located in a very good location, 2-easy access to train and supermarket and some restaurants around. 3-Staffs are quite friendly and welcoming. 4-cleanness of the rooms was great. Bonus point for cleaning team

However it had some negative points: 1-Place of the breakfast is very congested and should be expanded. In busy days, the place which breakfast is being served was so crowded that people should stay in a queue to get their breakfast. 2- verity of breads can be increased. 3- furniture are quite old. 4-the reception itself located at 3rd floor of a residential building. 5- Rooms have no hand or foot towel for sake of environment friendly (which doesn't make sense, they should provide and ask guests to reuse them) 6- Parking has extra charge although the hotel is not in the center.
We got a standard room and it has some economy rooms (called quick sleep, only beds and shared shower and toilet)
All in All, good for budget, but not perfect

Far from the center

Connect Hotel, Alvsjo, Stockholm
Stockholm is a large city and when I got down at the Viking Line Terminal where I had arrived on a ferry from Turku, I did not know where to turn. To add to my woes, I did not even have Swedish krona and they don't accept Euros. Then you can't even buy tickets on the buses as I was told by the taxi guy. He said that if I wanted to take a taxi to Connect Hotel, it would cost me €30 so I decided to walk up to Central Station, which was a 20 minute stroll through busy streets and reached the station where I paid SEK43 by credit card. The hotel was three stations away near a convention center but seemed much farther.
And Alvsjo is difficult to pronounce for non-Swedish speakers so every time I had to show them the location's name on my phone to make them understand where I wished to go.
But once I found the hotel,it was easy as it is just five minutes walk from the station.
The hotel is on the third floor of a building but they have an elevator. The reception also doubles as a bar and they have a restaurant too which serves food till 1am. The receptionists were very kind and and helpful and the check-in was smooth.
The room was a tiny windowless cubicle with a TV, a row of shelves and hangers to hang your clothes. Charging points were everywhere except near the bed where you need it the most. The bathrooms were outside and you are given a code to access these. These are well maintained and very clean.
The hotel serves breakfast that includes all the regular stuff like breads, butter, cheese, cold cuts, juice, milk, coffee etc. and it is not bad.
The reception area also serves as a common room so that you can sit and read there or even mingle with the other travelers but sadly during my stay, I did not find anyone eager to talk.
Now, since I love to walk, I used Google Maps to find my way to the Old Town and the center of Stockholm. Let me tell you, it is one long walk and took me almost two hours as compared to the ten minutes by train. And the walk is through highways and wooded areas that can be daunting at night so don't even try it. And if you don't have data on your phone and are relying on offline Google Maps then this goes off in isolated stretches leaving you stranded so taking the trains is the best option.
But each train trip costs you SEK43 or €4.5, which is pretty expensive so if you make four trips in a day, you end up spending €18 per person only on train tickets. Now just calculate that if you spend that much money on a hotel room in the city center, you end up saving so much time and effort in commuting and you can come and go as you like. Therefore I would suggest that if you don't have any work near Alvsjo, avoid staying there as the area does not have much to offer.
They stored my luggage without much ado and were kind enough to let me keep it till night when I was supposed to leave for Oslo.
So overall the stay was not bad except for the location and if given a choice, I would prefer to stay in the city center rather than in such far flung suburbs.

Just wanna try..

For this budget hotel and room. Economy room is so small and bit hot cant see how 2 person living room? Breakfast its pretty basic without any hot meal like bacon etc. WiFi drop you out every 1-2 hour and that is annoying. Crew its friendly and 5min u have supermarkets, coffee places etc. Its out downtown need go local train and if u dont have free card for train etc and u want visit centrum etc daily price its not so cheap anymore. Maybe i choose other hotel if here is not really good offer but u can sleep here for sure.
