Nice hotel in the middle of town

All of the important things were fine. Room was not cold, shower worked, plenty of hot water, slept well, didn't have too much noise (my room faced a side street). Plenty of nearby eateries - the Mafia restaurant, serving a curious combination of Italian and Japanese food, also a take out sushi place around the corner. Breakfast was also rather good. Wifi in my room worked well, though it seemed to be a bit throttled during periods of heavy usage (i.e. evenings)

The Continent is located right on the main street, close to all of the shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful and spoke good English.

The room was spacious, but the furniture was a little old.

I would stay at the Continent again and would also recommend this to other travelers.

The hotel looks good from the outside, but not great from the inside. Most staff don't speak English. The rooms are cold at night, since heating was not working (I was given a plastic heater, which was noisy and smelled). The breakfast was less than mediocre. I would not call it a bad hotel but can't call it a good hotel either. It is just a place to sleep; mainly for singles who don't mind surviving without luxury

Staying here is like trying to sleep at a very bad night club

Literally. Horrible loud music banging on all night. Drunk club goers yelling and laughing. It's 6:50 am, and it only stopped just now. It sounds as loud as it were happening right next to my room. I wanted to complain but the phone in the room is dead, and I was actually afraid to walk in the hall with all these drunks around. At 5 am my sleep-deprived brain realized I could call reception from my cell phone. The indifference of the person who answered was staggering. I guess he must have been on tranquilizers just to survived all that racket coming from the disco. (Note: the restaurant advertises a bar and a pizzeria, nothing about the disco).

I could have dealt with the hard mattress, the too-small sheet that kept bunching up every time I shifted, the old cigarette smell of the room that evidently used to be a smoking room, the broken phone and a broken electrical socket next to the bed, the questionable plumbing and the fact that the hotel lost my reservation. But the all-night disco???

The man manning the reception didn't offer an apology, and I actually had to demand to be moved to a quieter room, since no such offer was forthcoming. Hands down, the worst hotel experience in my life.

Oh, and I was asked to pay in cash. Even getting a printed hotel bill is an extra service that is charged separately.

Great location but way to go

The hotel is located in city center. Was living in single room, which was ok, but way below potential. Poor bathroom, sheet instead of normal blanket, no towel for floor, poor overall room condition. Breakfast is served from 7:30 which was too late to try. First time in a while was forced to pay at front during check in. Air conditioning was off despite of thermostat in the room.

Would advice to pick different location to stay.
